January 25, 201312 yr Author Box looks good, I almost wonder if it would fit the theme better by covering it in vinyl as opposed to the carpet, or go with a rougher outdoor style carpet instead of the smooth audio carpet. Still love the truck, glad it drives nice. ThanksWell the box wasnt a issue because no one will ever see it, but also the truck has a new black carpet kit and weather stripping coming.
January 25, 201312 yr That makes sense, I thought you were leaving the inside uncarpeted, like it is now. It still looks great! Please tell me you're keeping that checkered bench seat, it fits that build so well.
January 25, 201312 yr Author Yes everything but the carpet and kicks will stay the same. The floor looks fine now, but its Second Skin Damp Pro and on top its Luxury Liner. Looks fine in the ole truck though, lol
January 28, 201312 yr Author Got the pods mocked up and glued for placement, now I have to wrap it, fiberglass and cover them. I like placement, should sound good I hope.
January 28, 201312 yr I'd highly suggest repositioning the rings if you haven't fiberglassed them yet, you can either spin the tweet down farther and fire it towards the driver more or flip the tweet up higher into the firewall area..it will image way better.I typically put a laser pointer on the middle of the baffle between the mid/tweet and point it towards where the cab light should be on the back of the cab, that trick always works great.Looks great! I love old iron
February 4, 201312 yr Author Pods are done and installed, they sound incredible being in these sealed pods, very nice mid bass, the tweeters are rotated upward towards the center of the cab. Box is in, gonna just hook up my DD SS2 amp on the sub for now and run pods off head unit till I get my 4 channel issue figured out. I will have it done tonight. This weekend we replaced alot of rubber gaskets around the doors, windows, fenders, etc. So the actual system part have been slow. I am really happy with how my first fiberglassing venture did. I have always stuck with the box building and stock location installs. I feel confident to do others now.
February 4, 201312 yr It's not a rat rod if it has A/C. Hope your buddy enjoys that A/C panel. It's a b!tch to make. Carry on.

But it is sorta a ratty type of build, just has a couple comforts, (heat / air, system, carpet) Alot of the nicer rat builds you see have the vintage air in them. Especially the ones that do the long trips. There is nothing "cool" about sweating your balls off if you dont have to. lolNot sure what you mean about the A/C panel? Its was already done prior, just need to put back on the one vent on the drivers side.
February 4, 201312 yr Wow that turned out great! Damn nice for your first go at it.I wish I had that shop space. Didnt realize you had that much room to work. 70% of what I do is in my living room lol. I have a garage but not much space to work since the supra is in a 1012 pieces. I do have the same bosch router though. Love it!

No point in preaching to the choir about the importance of A/C, I live in South Texas. It's a sweet truck. My bad on that A/C panel bit. I meant the A/C controls panel. As BigJon mentioned I work for the company that makes the system. Fixturing and programming to make the A/C controls panel for the 55-59 Chevy truck kit was a bear. I don't get out much to see our products in action, so it was a real treat to see one here, and especially one I was directly involved in. Carry on with the sweet build.
