September 21, 201311 yr My pain level is absolutely incredible. I couldn't put my socks on this morning.
September 21, 201311 yr Correction I couldn't put them on in a normal way. I got them sumsabitches on.
September 21, 201311 yr I'd talk your doctor and complain that your medical situation (being overweight) is causing extreme amounts of duress and may force you to quit your job. See about getting a prescription for custom molded insoles. Lay it on thick I'm sure he'll write a script for some. Night and day difference. I wear prescription insoles for all my shoes and boots.
September 21, 201311 yr I still wear Doc Martens for boots most of the time. Might need to look into some timberlands.J
September 21, 201311 yr I have never had boots as good as redwings. I think they were $310 bucks or something crazy though.I found they were comfortable, but they fell apart in no time. For the cost of the rebuild I said fuck it. I wear New Balance 512s (buy them at Sears on sale for ~$40) with Superfeet black insoles. I spend $75 a year and get new shoes, which costs far less then any decent boots, they are comfortable, and they last in a shop environment.
September 21, 201311 yr I was please with my redwings. I had them for 5 years and had 3 full seasons worth of crazy hard work in them and then a bunch of knock around and regular construction work. I finally gave up when the soles were getting worn out because of a couple pinholes in the side made them no longer waterproof. If I purchased those new ballance I would get 2-3 months out of them, but in a shop for someone your size they are probably perfect.

September 21, 201311 yr When I was doing labor I was 260ish and would regularly carry 100 pounds or more. And then as I got fatter they still kept up.And what I put them through was just Fucking brutal. One of the reasons they are not ultra ultra durrable is the reason I love them though. The leather, like on the one I linked, is so incredible and well oiled it feels like heaven..... And they make wide sizes. Anyway.... Now I want a new pair. Too bad I wear dress shoes now.
September 21, 201311 yr the redwings i had were fuckin great.. lasted me 4 years or so.. but they only make one model in my size, and were costly they dont make tims my size nor docs.
September 21, 201311 yr I HATED my Redwings. So uncomfortable, didn't last very long at all and cost quite a bit for a pair of boots that only lasted a year. My Georgia Boots have lasted me 2yrs now and I'm sure I'll get another year out of them. They didn't cost what the Redwings did, they broke in WAY easier and didn't hurt while doing so, they've held up very well and they are SUPER comfortable.
September 21, 201311 yr I've never owned a pair but all the redwings I've tried on I didn't like. There is a redwing rep that brings a fully loaded 18 wheeler full of EVERY shoe they make to the elevators I frequent. I'm sure it's just my feet. I prefer a flat spongy sole.
September 21, 201311 yr Chill, you just have women feet.:-DLol maybe. I'm on my feet all day and have to move really fast all day. I basically run for 8hrs straight so I need something comfortable and easy yo move around in. After 2 weeks of wearing my Georgias they were already molded to my feet. At this point I actually feel that my boots are more comfortable than my Nikes and my Nikes are pretty damn comfortable.http://www.georgiaboot.com/products/3763/G8374/Georgia-Giant-Safety-Toe-Work-BootsThese are the boots I own and I can't say anything bad about them. I'll more than likely buy another pair next year. Edited September 21, 201311 yr by ChILL

I bought a pair of Reebok's with spongy soles, it's a nice feeling, thinking of not using then when I take the bike though.
September 21, 201311 yr And I'm going to buy SPD pedals and shoes. Gave it a try on a friend's bike, it's awesome to both push and pull on the pedals. And having a stiff shoe helps comfort on long rides.
September 21, 201311 yr 2 more years of school, this is going to hurt. At least I joined together with some friends to make it easier, ie share projects, lecture notes...
September 22, 201311 yr My pain level is absolutely incredible. I couldn't put my socks on this morning. This makes me sad, very

I use the Look equivalent that I bought used on CL.
