July 6, 201411 yr Sorry to rain on your parade, bud, but I would own a Ford Escort, Windstar, or even a Pinto before I would own a Mini.Gotta ask do you work on Toyota as well?JYep. Why's that, bud?anything I should be aware of on the 2011 Tundra's.I love my truck but am just curious if there is something I should be aware of or looking out for as I aproach 60k in milage?J Not really. I have seen a couple that had the trans oil cooler rupture in the radiator and the coolant floods the tranny. It will destroy a trans, but while it does happen it is rare, so I wouldn't worry terribly. I only mention it because I don't know that I have seen it on anything but Toyota trucks. Just maintain it and it will be a great truck. Aside from their PITA tire pressure monitor issues they are pretty solid with no really common shortcomings.Good shit. It goes in for the oil change Wednesday. I just want to ensure I shouldn't expect some new shit to go wrong.J
July 7, 201411 yr Seth, have any info on the veedub engine carbon build up? Specifically the 2.0 turbo?
July 7, 201411 yr Speaking of, is the PPI 900.4 normally only $169?? So fucking cheap Yup....Small, powerful, cheap. Best buy ATM.
July 7, 201411 yr White is starting to grow on me: Wouldn't be too much of an issue to find those rims or something similar with a nice lip. I will have to paint the entire car either way. White looks a bit more refreshing than metallic silver, seems like scratches are not that easy to see too.

Solid white (as is nothing besides rims and tires) just screams 'break my mirrors' to me. J
July 7, 201411 yr Seth, have any info on the veedub engine carbon build up? Specifically the 2.0 turbo? Yeah, it is common with all direct injection engines but VW/Audi and Mini seem to be having the biggest problems. VW/Audi also had a lot of problems with the high pressure pumps wiping out camshafts. What questions in particular?

July 7, 201411 yr Not really. They are troublesome with regards to oil leaks and oil consumption, and of course the typical odd annoying VW/Audi pattern failures like PCV, MAF, and other habitual VAG failures. The aforementioned fuel system problems are a pain in the ass. I suggest finding a shop that does good pressurized intake cleaning and having the intake done every 15K or so to prevent carbon buildup on the back side of the intake valves.

July 7, 201411 yr This is my fascination with white on white. I do feel, however, that the look is only good on white.

Never been a fan of it but it makes the Miata look newer. Simplest easiest white should be cheaper and easier to detail / touch-up. Black is out of the cards. It gets plenty hot in the summer, I don't want it to get hotter.
