My house is a bit bigger and so is my lot.  If I cheap out on finishes it won't be a good financial decision.

Depends on the location but usually it is. We have a ton of readybuilt shops in the state which can bring the price down lower.

Backwards from here...by a lot.

The fad right now is for a developer to buy large plots then build a "subdivision" of multi-acre homes.

5-6 homes on 20-100 acres, typically.

Builders do the same here, and those prices are of course cheaper than building yourself as well.

Tons of obnoxious deed restrictions, obviously.

Being your own GC makes it even cheaper.

My yard is much quieter.  I only have an acre, but a shit load of trees.

I really, really, ridiculously hate finish work. And prospective home buyers who demand every detail about the finish work only to ridicule it because that's not what they would have chose.

If i had time i would.

Just pissed because i am 5k into plans for something that is out of reach.  Initial preplan bid had it in reach

I refuse to refinance...but would take a short term loan.  Short term at this dollar amount no fucking way possible
