February 8, 201312 yr Last Escalade i drove was just an awd 6.0l gm system.I thought so. A buddy super charged his for a pretty low price and it was a hoot. I rode in a gen 1 or 2 and it was not too shabby either for road beast.
February 8, 201312 yr My 02 Silverado was absolutely the biggest pos I've ever owned.I particularly hate Chevy non HD/supe duty type trucks. Some folks I know
February 9, 201312 yr My 02 Silverado was absolutely the biggest pos I've ever owned. My 02 Silverado has served me well for many years.
February 9, 201312 yr Wow, I was really feeling the GM trucks in term of looks. Honestly I don't want to cross a line where I could buy a newer model for a few dollars more. Obviously the lower mileage used ones are in the 14-16k range. Also, the models until '06 look more solid.I like Expeditions but why is the same year with same features Ford cheaper than the Chevy?
February 9, 201312 yr Weird. I would take a newer model Ford/Lincoln over an newer Chevy SUV in a heart beat. Mine is a 97, and the age of my truck I would take a Either if the interiors were ok, and the engines were strong. I purchased mine 6 years ago for just over 6k. I have put 3000 into it for repairs and maintenance including oil and brakes and tires. I did spend a good amount on tires. It is however the MOST comfortable vehicle I have owned. The Tahoes I have driven for example have all had this fucked up B pillar that makes me lean gangster style into the car. I hate that. The Yukon I drove all the time for my buddy sober bussing was awesome. So comfy. If I had to pick on the nicest recent model SUVs in the heavy weight range it would be the Lincoln Navigator, GMC Denali, Cadillac, and then Expy. The Expy will be the best priced though, and I wouldn't feel bad putting nobby rubber on it and actually using it like a damn truck. The Lincoln is going to be a little bit more powerful and probably more road friendly and less off roady. I habe never driven an Escalade on anything more off road than groomed gravel, I doubt it would like it.If you like the style of the Chevy, then go for it. I just hate how I fit in the interior, they styling, and I know Ford fan boys who help me. So it's a big comfort zone for me too. If price is no option get an ML AMG or Porsche Chilli Pepper. I particularly like the GTS, and the Turbo S. A pair of 18's will fit in any of them.
February 9, 201312 yr Honestly any big American SUV based on some half ton pick up frame is going to be about the same. I just feel that you happen to get a whole shit load of truck for the dollar om the Navigators.I also don't mind buying high mile vehicles that are comfortable. My truck had a rebuilt engine right be ford I purchased it and a strong trans.
February 9, 201312 yr I'm in the market for a new to me used vehicle. I am interested in a suv. My choices would be a Tahoe or Suburban 2004-2006. How much would you guys pay for a decent used one? How many miles? Is there a preference for either one? Goal is to build a "loud clean system with some 18"s". I would hate to destroy a new truck with all the bass so that is why I'm thinking used would be better. I need opinions and suggestions here... If competing I would go Yukon. It;s size is more conducive to a better resonance for output. The Suburban is much bigger. As far as Expeditions, you couldn't give me one. I am so fuckin sick and tired of fixing those big pieces of shit I don't even have the time to tell you. No offense Den, but Ford V8s suck dick. Ok tool people, recommend me a torque wrench. Up to $180, I need it to start from 15lbsft Do they make torque wrenches that cheap? My most recent torque wrench cost me almost $500.
February 9, 201312 yr LoL, seth I know you don't like them. I abuse my vehicle and it has gone way past my expectations. You just see a different side than I do.
February 9, 201312 yr I was a bit pissed today. My new cart did not arrive like it was supposed to. He said as soon as it arrives he will bring it.I was also pissed that I have to buy a special cleaner for the matte black finish, and it is over $35 for 4 cleanings. Cocksuckers...
February 9, 201312 yr LoL, seth I know you don't like them. I abuse my vehicle and it has gone way past my expectations. You just see a different side than I do. Indeed. No offense intended, but goddamn they have a lot of issues. I hate hunting blind misfires and finding out the misfiring coil killed the ECMs. I current ramp the coils and see the ECM driver is trying to fire the coil. Put the coil in and find out the transistor in the brain is fucked too... "Yes sir, I know you just spent $1000 on coils and plugs, but now you need $600 worth of ECM and programming!"
February 9, 201312 yr would you guys rather have a pair of DD Z1's or a pair of Goliaths? hard decision for me I like to stay away from the Z1 after having one with a hole in the board, which caught fire after it was fixed (unrelated to the repair) and seeing a second one almost burning a hole in the board. thats really good to know! i have never heard that before. i bought my old one back from my brother after he realized that he had no idea what he was doing with that power and i was searching for a second.

February 9, 201312 yr After 50k miles on the AMG I think it finally spit something. Lean idle condition has been occuring more and more often and throwing CEL. Just left bank.
February 9, 201312 yr Sean, what laptop did you end up with?I'm looking into buying the same laptop i had or considering extending my budget to maybe get something else. My only "complaints" were the click bar was loud and i now know the screen could be better.
February 9, 201312 yr My 02 Silverado was absolutely the biggest pos I've ever owned. My 02 Silverado has served me well for many years. i HATE GM vehicles! i just got my Hummer back from being in the shop for a month after ripping the front and rear end out of it. biggest piles of shit ever built. i would never buy another GM again. i always buy Ford and buying this Hummer was a big mistake

They do make them that cheap, though I can't guarantee how precise they are
February 9, 201312 yr Speaking of, which type of torque wrench is/are the best type(s) to have? Depends on the need and your budget. I like the click type, but sometimes I need an angle or stretch and precision (read expensive) wrenches are necessity.
