I'm stoked, pretty well planned out my amplifier/processor/wiring layout for my trunk within about an hour and started working on it.

I know this sounds like a simple task, but it usually takes me the better part of two days just to plan how I want to lay everything out because I'm a perfectionist and run through just about every possible option before deciding on something I like.

This time I thunked up a great plan on my first "try". I still have some thinking to do about how fancy I want to get. But the main layout is done in my head, and that's the major hurdle.

Is this in the RM or did you find another vehicle?

Roadmaster

When is said install to be complete.

Hopefully before winter hits.

This is my 1st time putting a stereo in this car, so I have to do everything from scratch.  Wires, speakers, amp rack, etc.

I had my last car 10 years so when I changed something, I already had most of the foundation in place.

With starting fresh and having to do EVERYTHING to it still, it will probably take me the better part of the summer.

One caliper is on, spinning freely, good clearance. Now I need to learn to use the flaring tool for new brake lines.

I assume double flares with a mechanical flare tool. Let me know and I'll tell you how I set it up and use one. I may even go ahead and take a few shots and run some flares for you. It is really simple if you follow a few little tips/suggestions I have figured out and been taught over the years. I have made a fucking million brake lines in my 30 years of wrenching.

Since I bother you guys with everything else. Anyone look into a closet system? We have a huge master closet with hardly any useful area.

Sean, I know you did that closet in your house and after seeing it I'm scared to price stuff, but I think that it is something in the house that will add more value to the house than it cost.

Ha, I just bought closet maid stuff for our master today.  Literally.

$750 for two 6'6" sections.  Includes a replacement for a dresser on one side.

The stuff from Menards looks like shit, Lowe's is overpriced, the John Luis stuff at Costco looks fine, but cost more than the closetmaid at Home Depot.  I sort of figured with a nearly 7 digit house than the wire stuff which I could have done for $300 would look way too cheap.

We currently have about 1/4 covered in wire and it is hideous.

Considering my house is all wood floors and siding, trim, etc. it pains me to do particle board anywhere. However, the inside of our kitchen cabinets are not and it shows in a few high traffic areas.

I looked into doing partial custom by ordering the drawers but doing all the rest, but it didn't seem worth it.

We'll give you two weeks.

I hope to have the amp rack done and wires in within that time frame :)

Hardest part is going to be finding replacement interior panels to hack up.  I'm hoping I can hit all of the local junkyards on Friday to see if any of them have any RM's.

Oh, yeah.

I want to cut the torsion bars out of the trunk.  I want to replace them with gas struts, but I need them to have eyelets on both ends.  Autozone didn't have anything like that.

Any good sources?

How would i go about refusing the offer while leaving the door open for future opportunities? It's a small company, 7 people in this location.

Usually the truth works.  Why aren't you interested?

For now I don't know the pay difference.

Cons

1. small vs large firm = a bit more stress but since it's an internal product it is still less than outsourcing.

2. Downtown location vs 5 minutes away. I'd have to pedal ~20 minutes to work.

Pros

1. Working with very talented people

2. Working in the automotive realm and being the only one with a strong understanding of the technical field = opportunity for growth.

If the pay difference is more than $300 the distance is not a problem.

Sounds to me like you are interested.  What are you refusing?

Found some shoes and a tie to go with her dress.

Issue now is that my damn jacket and pants seemed small. Went in to at least match new pants with jacket, no dice. Got black pants to go with it. I'll post a pic tomorrow and see how badly I am doing here.

Just not enough spare cash for a new suit right now.

I hope that 300$ is a bi-weekly at least and not a monthly.

Monthly :)

Would be a very good pay , my friend who works there started with as much as i have now

So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shop owner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.

It's a cheap mechanical tool, looks like any other. I had trouble with the simple flare because the pipe would start to bend but i think i got the hang of it. I have 20 inches of pipe to practice on. Thank you for the offer, if i can't sort it out, i'll hit you up.

I've been busy bit trying to keep up. I got a $200 works suit from Jos A Bank and spent about $60-$80 at a good tailor to get it fitted just right and I love it. It doesn't match the material of my $150 dress pants but it is nice.

PS do they make wool khakis or similar? I love my grey dress pants but all my khakis are just cotton. I prefer the feel of the woolies.

It also got me my job, which is most important to me.

Having pants on?

The plan has been to go see Jos A Bank or men's warehous sometime soon when it's a buy one get one sale and get a new suit or two, and some other things.

I just want to know that my closet will be filled with clothes to be prepared for almost any occasion.
