Clarify it and you're golden

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)

According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.

There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

According to AN, GM is contacting dealers to report to their local dealership for a new ignition switch. Naturally, all work will be done free of charge (presumably, Pontiac owners will need to report to Chevy dealers). Customers that haven't or aren't able to report for service, meanwhile, are being asked to remove "non-essential items" from their key rings. 619,122 of the affected cars are registered in the US, while 153,310 are up north, in Canada. South of the border, 6,130 cars are affected.

Fashion can be difficult to understand, especially for us literal-minded car enthusiasts, but Mercedes-Benz AMG is making things very simple with its new fashion line. Its new line of Burn Out Bags, along with German label Destroy vs. Beauty, are made by running over high-quality leather with high-performance cars and making goods out of the resulting material. Buyers can choose anything from handbags to suitcases.

It's not cheap to have a CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake run over a bag, apparently. The least-expensive Burn Out Bag retails for 780 euros ($1,068 at current exchange rates), and prices range up to $1,978 for a burnout suitcase. Of course, it does seem like something that could be done for less money at home, assuming you had a car capable of a quality burnout. But if fashion is this simple, a lot of auto enthusiasts might be showing up on Project Runway in the coming seasons.

Ghee works nicely.

Isn't that just clarified butter?

The process of creating traditional clarified butter is complete once the water is evaporated and the fat (clarified butter) is separated from the milk solids. However, the production of ghee includes simmering the butter along with the milk solids so that they caramelize, which makes it nutty-tasting and aromatic

To further clarify (see what I did there?)

Clarified butter is butter with almost all of its water and milk solids removed, leaving almost-pure butterfat. Clarified butter is made by heating butter to its melting point and then allowing it to cool; after settling, the remaining components separate by density. At the top, whey proteins form a skin which is removed, and the resulting butterfat is then poured off from the mixture of water and casein proteins that settle to the bottom.

Ghee is clarified butter which is brought to higher temperatures of around 120 °C (250 °F) once the water had evaporated, allowing the milk solids to brown. This process flavors the ghee, and also produces antioxidants which help protect it longer from rancidity. Because of this, ghee can keep for six to eight months under normal conditions.

*goes to internet to find disgusting crab filled uber fat bitch pussy and post it here*

*insert Led Zeppelin shark story here*

It was a red snapper, not a shark.

Yay! 8 inches of snow, several hours of pouring down rain to add a nice layer of ice, and now several more inches of snow on top of it.

The south has been crippled like Christopher Reeves at a horse show.

Technically it was a Yelloweyed Rockfish; red snapper aren't found in the Pacific. It's still typically referred to as the "Shark episode" though.

I see Google works :P

I'm going to overnight you a bag of poop after I drank a few pounds of ghee.

:-)
