I think as long as the platform isn't too high from the ground then I can do it. It's going inside a little studio rental so I'll have to walk over it all day.

Cow matts are plenty thick, the ones in my bil's barn are 3/4". Heavy as shit, but you ain't gonna hurt anything under it.

Some of the boys are very large for this age. Must be in the food today.

There is a boy on the Illinois team that a little bigger than me.

Yup and if you were closer I could give you some.

If something doesn't fit just dip it in whiskey and shove it in hard

I finally bought a 18 gun safe and a 1/4 of it is filled silver coins. Might have to get another just for the silver and coin collection.

I may join the Nashville Boat club. Pay a one time fee up front, then so much per month and get access to any of these boats whenever you want.

Those clubs are a HUGE ripoff. Boat collection is strange too.
Nah,

I know a few people in it and they all love it! A nice boat would cost way more to actually own, plus they retire boats after 2-3 years so the fleet always stays new. Me and a friend are gonna spit the family deal, its like 2300 up front and around 350 per month split between the two of us so thats not bad at all. The 2300 is a one time fee so if you had the account even only 3-5 years your coming out good. They are on 3 lakes around here too. What I like is that me and a friend could get a ski boat from 7am to 1 or so then go back and meet the family at the dock and switch over to a big tritoon pontoon boat to go relax till dark.

Then I dont have to clean nothing, tow anything back home etc. Be back the next day for a different boat to try.

The key is using the boats as much as you can. If you only go once a month it might not make sense, but to me neither would actually buying a boat and not using it. I like that I could leave work early and take a few of my guys over and grab a badass ski boat for the afternoon and us act a fool. Or take a new client out for the day, seems like a good marketing expense for us smile.png

The good thing is the lake is 5 minutes away and they dont allow boats to be parked in my subdivision and dock rental is high as hell.

I've owned around 10 boats. Never had one that I didn't sell for within $500 of what I paid for it. Have a Malibu LSV 23' atm that I could sell for $15k more than I paid for it.

*excluding maintenance in my cost/purchase price but that involves an oil change, lower lube change, trans fluid change, and less than $3k over all of them.

$6500 for the first year hurts. $350/mo is pretty cheap though. The ones around here are $4k for 10 uses. $400 a pop is brutal.

My 30' Sea Ray Sundancer monthly payment was only $400 btw.

Most people do fail on boat ownership though too.

1st rule is buy something depreciated as you will want something different next year. A 7+ yr old boat you should be able to buy and keep for 5+ years and sell for the same price. Boats have a very strange depreciation curve and it is awful up front. Also have to make sure it is desirable.

2nd rule is expect that you will sell it within 12mo. You learn a ton over what works for what you want and such after ownership.

Which of course brings me to another problem with that club. Outside of the pontoons their choices are because they are concserving money trying to buy something new when there are way better choices. If you want to rent a pontoon for X$ per time then perhaps it is fine....but then I'd look for just rental places as they will be priced similar normally.

Three dogs on a leash, totaling around 200 lbs. of canine, composite toe work boots, and a 25 lbs. weight plate in the backpack. LIKE A BAWS.

Basically like walking my dog and holding a beer.

Plus boats have 30year loans and such.

Not that it is a good idea, but you can get the boat you want.

After the 4 days with the fan on a lake, I really fell in love with having a boat.

I haven't started looking as that would mean also looking for a truck/SUV.

Another perspective for you. If I hadn't paid cash, this would be $140/mo. No mechanical concern either since I have Travelers Insurance which covers mechanical as well.

Throws a way better wake and holds more people than any of the ones in that club. WAY cheaper too.

Just got off mine. Took the kids to Tommy's Trolley for a Mackathun's Dog and some Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream.

Don't know mackathun, but SJ ice cream is usually bomb!

Meat market from St. Boni. Not stellar, but they are real and therefore edible.

Essentially, yes.

Working up to at least a 50 lbs. plate shouldn't be too difficult
