Matt how is Jack doing?

Starting to show his age. Been needy lately. I think he has a cold bug.

He's my buddy though. No matter how much I work and stomp around stressed out he is there. I will basically need bereavement leave when he passes away, I'm sure of it.

Awesome, man's best friend for sure!

Sean how are the boys? I bet they are growing fast and ganging up on dad.

Definitely. Understatement. Aidan is in kindergarten and Tanner is a few months away from being 4. Nutso!!

Amazing how fast time flies once you have kids. The best of times are coming with them. Treasure these years because they go so fast. Let them know the crazy guy in the mask says hi.

Mirror should be easy. WTF.

Nvidia spent days helping to troubleshoot and my situation even became part of a beta driver. I probably wasn't the only one but Sean emailed them back and forth enough to get the the actual build team for the drivers to discuss the issue with my set up.

Sean and drives...

Lol

I would be gunshy with your luck too I suppose.

Having a raw drive right next to the PC (which is all in a 19" rack in the furnace room) and the sata cables right next to it seems about as safe and easy as it can be. Forces me to reboot my machine everytime I backup which is good because otherwise it is on.

And really the only time I ever back up are:

1) when I do my taxes

2) when I download pictures from my camera which is probably 1x/mo

I add music, but that backs up automatically when I do the pics. If it disappears before I have it on my laptop.

The only real reason for NAS would be to allow full access to my media. It is available now already though in every room but my office. That is cured much cheaper with another squeezebox than a NAS server.

That furnace might be a helper in the murder of your drives. Hot air, and super dry is a silent killer.

I only meant a NAS to have a mirror set up. Your method is safe. I'm too lazy for that though.

It a probably not such a big deal when you have your method down tight.

Will do. Thanks dude.

Easy but requires switching resolution. Found a software at one point that would allow me to quick key which was the main display and therefore adjust the resolution.

My goal is to not lose the 1200 on the monitor when NOT playing content on TV's. For video I don't really care, but looking at the internet with dead bands on the monitor drives me NUTS.

My method does require a second drive for my laptop which is somewhat annoying if I want to share.

My file structure is simple though so it is SUPER easy for me to duplicate what is on where. I use a sync program that looks for changes in files and only copies those. Makes it super fast to stay on top of shit.

I had another life moment tonight. My daughter lettered in cheerleading and get her letterman coat.

Maybe too humid?

Sweating that PC like a steam room!

:-D

You know heat is a killer. That's one of my main complaints with AMD. Fuckers are heaters.

Other thing I don't like about NAS is that my whole house is connected to my work network. I only pay for one internet connection and the router I use is a direct connection to Germany. Amusingly if you autoproxy any pc at my house everything shows up in German.

It is significantly under 80 in that room even if it is -30F outside and the furnace on all day/night. Maybe 75?

Das internet!

That German porn is spooky stuff.

I'm more spitballing. My basement is 59-65 I bet.

:-)

I also have 5 case fans, the PSU fan, a pair of fans on the radiator that cool the liquid for the CPU and pull air out the top of the case.

And a bunch on the video cards.

Cool airflow Bitches.
