July 16, 201312 yr Guarantee that is the next revolution. Art & Science will be put back into the work force. People who are crafty enough to do things in their hands will become more prevalent. Seeing it in the food industry (THANK FUCKING GOD) and I am sure that others will follow. Going to unchinese the American worker.
July 16, 201312 yr If I were qualified only for an entry level arena for work in fact it is exactly what I'd do. Pick one of my hobbies and get fucking serious about it and sell for $.
July 16, 201312 yr Hate offering that as advice for others though. My motivation doesn't quite follow the norm.

July 16, 201312 yr How would you build the chassis? Brakes will happen, but I'm not unsatisfied with how they stop now. I do know I am throwing money away, however it's no more or less throwing away than buying a nicer vehicle. I LOVE the interior design of mine, and I LOVE the exterior designs. I want something quicker, and more off-road capable. And I have to spend a few bucks doing something for the drivetrain, so why not be stupid about it?I have heard the 4 valve is less torque than the 2v even when built up. I have throught about trick flow heads too. Not sure the cost.My plan was to get all Manley pistons and rods. What fucks me up is the crank. Why are some 2900 for a forged one and then the ford forged is <600. Is there going to be a difference? Is 600-800hp unreasonable for a DD if everything inside is built with those forged parts?I would guess it would need better cooling perhaps so a radiator upgrade maybe and an oil cooler and trans cooler too?The truck is going to be more toy, but still something I will drive all the time.

July 16, 201312 yr They may have mastered the production of electronics, but I would take Japan for design, quality control, and a better value for the dollar.American made typically has a higher cost and some companies still have production and design issues, but I believe if given a chance American made products could be built just as well or better for a comparable price.Err, not true on any account.I'd take the Koreans over the Japanese on ALL of your list. The Japanese also have BY FAR the highest cost, not the Americans. The only problem with American made stuff is that our people are so fucking lazy that the build cost gets all fucked up. The only reason US made products are more expensive is due to the margin. Yea the Koreans and Chinese and the US make amps. But they all buy their transistors from Taiwan. Or their copper from Africa, ect. Now the African copper miners don't charge china $1 a pound and the US $3. They have a price set and who ever buys, buys.Even after you factor in Labor costs. Sonovox is capable of pumping out 10,000 units of various product a day. Even if the factory employs 500 people that no where near justifies double or triple the cost of US product. If each worker made $400 a day it would only add a few bucks to each product. Not just the margin but the accessibility of parts, and cost to being them in. Add in building costs for factories, and the costs associated with running said factory in comparison and that shrinks the profit margin even more.I am just saying that for me, I am willing to spend some more hard earned money on an American product, as long as I know that it is well made, and it fits my needs or wants.JJ, there are none. American products are 90% if not more filled with things from other countries. What you should buy is the best product for your needs for the money you have. Companies then need to react to this. If they don't, they don't deserve to survive. Natural selection will always exist in the business world. IMO the things worth paying for our the ones that don't take advantage labor wise of developing countries. Not saying I am against cheap labor. I sure the fuck don't want to do it.You raise some VERY valid points Sean. I can see where you are coming from, I just hate DIRECTLY sending my money to another contry's company to pay people 2.75 an hour to make a product that costs 15 dollars in materials, takes 25 minutes to make from start to finish, and yet still costs me 375 dollars. Yes I know my example is probably grossly inflated on the figures, but you get the point.I guess American made pride needs to leave for aome areas. Still happy to have the most American made pick up though.J

For me, my hobbies have excuses as to why not.Car audio - too out of it to make it profitible for meWriting- impossible to get published nowadays without a favor from a friend or titsPhotography- Now that I am no longer deployed the same rules as aboveI may still do something with Photography. I just need to find a good niche for me. For now I amjust hoping to nail the DoD interview Thursday, and get some money going.J

July 16, 201312 yr I was also going to remind you that you wanted smaller.;-)I will rent a wing from you though and do labor. And help you drink beer.
July 16, 201312 yr Compared to the other homes in ur area. The owners have to be going thru bankruptcy. My mom just bought 175 acres a few months ago from a widow who's husband killed himself. She paid 1k an acre and its worth 10k an acre. It's actually got 1/2 mile of river front property on it. Last week she sold the shale oil mineral rites for it for 1.5 million and 6% of whatever is found.
July 16, 201312 yr Matt, or Quentin, how strong is the Leek Composite? Most extreme thing I'd try with it is cutting open a tin can.Tip is fragile bc its pointy. I've never broken one though. It stays sharper but it rusts pretty bad. Have to clean it weekly. Cleaning is not such a problem. Time to order one then, there are blemished ones on ebay for $42

WTF??It is a WAYS out of town and needs to be gutted. Liveable clean, but holy hell is the inside a mess. There are something like 8 living rooms in it. No master, the kitchen sucks, and some seriously dated stuff.
July 16, 201312 yr Thinking about buying the white househttp://www.edinarealty.com/homes-for-sale/MN/Minnetrista/55364/3860-County-Road-44-90369911 Lots of low ceilings and WTF is with the laminate counter tops? So much for downsizing.Ha, right. There is actually a 2200sq ft guest house on the back side of the garage. It would give me instant babysitters as I could get my parents to move in there. If it weren't for that and the huge potential to make $$ by fixing the houses layout I'd prefer to downsize. In that house though we'd end up with an 1800sq ft Master suite & office with HUGE lake views. The kitchen and great room would be of similar size and the basement walkout/party room to the lake as well. Add the MIL suite and we could live there for a while.
July 16, 201312 yr Even with a shithole interior, it's a good price. The multiple livingroom and dining room thing is not cool. But could be made to be cool with some nice planning...The worst part of the house to me is the exterior. Maybe the profile shot was just... Not flattering. It looks like a charmerng southern plantation home ALL fucked up and done wrong.Either way, I'm moving into the cabana. You will have the best bedding in every bedroom. :-) Edited July 16, 201312 yr by dem beats
