Short on time a bit this week as next week I travel and the following the boss stays here at the house. IS 2.8 ii probably.It makes up too much for my low skills. It is portrait worth, crisp as all hell, and works for wildlife and mates with their extenders to be a real powerful took for nature. It does too much of what I want so well.I could handle a wedding with that lens. Enough to make the money I spent on it if I ever cared too.The next would be a shorter zoom like you are looking at.

I mean SILENT.NO NOISE.It makes the USM on the 50 sound like a jet enjine. For video it can't be beat despite the high F. I will see if I can scratch up some video for you.

So much for downsizing.Ha, right. There is actually a 2200sq ft guest house on the back side of the garage. It would give me instant babysitters as I could get my parents to move in there. If it weren't for that and the huge potential to make $$ by fixing the houses layout I'd prefer to downsize. In that house though we'd end up with an 1800sq ft Master suite & office with HUGE lake views. The kitchen and great room would be of similar size and the basement walkout/party room to the lake as well. Add the MIL suite and we could live there for a while.From the picture the 'bar' at least needs no work.J
July 16, 201312 yr Interview here in a few hours with Staples, DoD on thursday.Found out I did not get the second interview with DirectTV's sales department, which I find kind of odd as I felt like I nailed the interview, and she sounded extremely interested in hiring me.J

Sometimes you may appear too good for the job and they may be afraid you would not stay because the labor there may not challenge your skills.

Unless you are thinking a better and lower F version of the STM, then who knows.Yours doesn't use L glass elements and have a constant 2.8 throughout the range though. Might make more sense to buy the Sigma 17-50 now and update if that happens later.
July 16, 201312 yr If it's for video I would get the Canon with higher F and save$$$. If you wanna do stills, the sigma is probably a good choice.The better glass elements won't help at all with video. It all downscales, and the image quality for video in these things is less than the glass quality in a coke bottle. The 2.8 would be a huge help in outdoor night stuff. The 5.5f on mine is good enough to take good video by firelight and a dim lamp. The IS is also a boon.
