Fuck I just won't ever own a crotch rocket.

I feel the safest on that most of the time. If I don't like the jerks around me, my right hand gets me out of there faster and around them with more confidence. Brakes shorter too.
For that the ML is quick enough. That is the only thing it is quikc enough at though.
I bet it feels fast with all that weight, but the 50-120 on my bike is pretty intense. Anything past 20 is basically absurd.

Probably another reason I LOVE those small German cars from Stuttgart so much.

FML

I wasn't comparing like that. Just was saying for getting out of trouble the ML is fine. Too slow for anything else wink.png

OMG, those guys are worse than I thought.

I know we aren't as cool as you, but that was harsh bro.

Ha, I read that so wrong the first 2x. Didn't realize you knew what I was alluding to. Mmmm, tasty music.

Can't figure out the WiFi on my cyberQ. I hear that the iPhone is very simple, the droid not so much.

And of course the great majority of it is going back. Just figured spending $30 total in shipping was worth it to try on the ONLY options that come in my size. There were a few locally, but the rest of Talls were order only. I want to try them on and see what I like the best.

THANK GOD there are a lot of snowmobile pants options. Pretty sure I'd tear through snowboard pants real fast. Jackets don't rub shit so that should be no concern.

Last thing on my list though are some well insulated mechanic style gloves with no insulation on the palms. Better contact to the bar heater but enough on the back side to withstand -10F and I'm happy.

Lol okay.

You really think riding on dirt is even similar to pavement?

I would rather ride a dirt bike for a few months / years then ride on the street rather than jumping on a street bike and "learning" on the street as you suggest.

I'm not saying dirt biking replaces road experience, I just see it as sort of a primer or prereq.

Yes the positioning and steering between the two is different, but I still believe it would have enough carry over to be worth doing.

Comparing dirt bike crashes to street bike crashes is hilarious, I know which one I'd rather crash on.

And for what it's worth I crash a lot. Not to sound corny, but I'm always pushing my boundaries and that's how I've become a better and faster rider. It's also the reason why I probably won't ever own a street bike.

Smozberries taste like snozberries!

I'm too old to fall off a crotch rocket.

Oh fuck. I wrote a really thoughtful post on how I agree with dirt being safer then the machine crashed.

I'm fairly certain more people die racing off road than even in the fastest GP races, and they definitely break more bones and cripple more people. But racing and riding on the road are completely different. Hence why if you can stay off the road with your bike, more power to you.

I cannot, and riding a dirt bike will teach you the wrong muscle memory for riding a sports bike. With cars around you, that could kill you if you are new to riding. I think Julian said he has had a road bike, so it's kind of a moot statement.

All I can say is don't do it. But if you do, practice in completely empty lots with fast stops and starts, go with a friend in case you get hurt. Always wear a helmet, and armor if you can. Gloves too. A little kevlar on the knucks goes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way on pavement.

Just don't be the D-bag squid in board shorts, shades, and flip flops racing around.

:)

Or to get hit with an invisible wire some fucker strung across his ditch to snag sledders. One of my old coworkers got caught by an unflagged wire on some farmers property. Dialed 911 but couldn't breathe much less talk, raced the 15 min home(thank god he was close) somehow, collapsed in the driveway. EMS was able to intubate in time. He cannot laugh properly, talk properly, and lost 30 pounds from not being able to oxygenate his muscles properly.

on a night this gorgeous. You are off your game. I'm rocking shorts and a t shirt, and nothing else. I may just sit outside a while tonight and have a stogie.

My flip flops are my defacto foot covering

have you ever pedaled in them? I have. Bad news.

God damn power supply fan is going on me. RMA on the way.

Thank god this one is a hybrid where it doesn't need the fan. The 200mm above it helps cool it even more too.

Seriously? That is fucking awful.

I know. I needed shoes for foot protection earlier today and effed up
