My ampilfier goes into protect mode

So I hooked back up my amplifier today and when I turned the headunit on and played some music I realized that no bass was coming from my subwoofer and my amp was in protect mode. I also noticed that my lights would flicker and dim and why voltage dropped to like 12 volts. Any suggestions to what the problem may be?

    unhook rcas from amp, power back on.

    measure dc voltage at amp and see what it says.

    If your lights are dimming and that's the only amp you have pulling aftermarket current, then sounds like your altbattery(ies) are dying as well if you do not inspect and fix immediately.
