Posted February 18, 201312 yr Hello, I am looking for some help on whether I should do a sealed box, ported or slotted enclosure for my SA-8 V.2 SPL Dual 2OHM. For now, I'm putting a Sony Xplod XM-GTR2022 amp on it. Which runs 500RMS when bridged. I want to build the box slotted preferably, unless you guys give me enough reason to just do a sealed box if its going to be a better setup. If anyone out there already has some plans for a box they have built for their SA-8 V2, shoot them over to me! I'm open to pretty much anything right now. Im putting this sub in a Kia Forte Koup. Working with 19"Hx32"Wx13"D Thanks SSA! Edited February 18, 201312 yr by juan8423
February 18, 201312 yr Small sealed = more spl.Larger sealed = deeper.Only a little tho, I would jsut find a nice sloted box
February 18, 201312 yr I would do something around .5-.7 cubic feet for splTuned around 35 Hz for more spl, but 32hz would be more resonable for everyday. Either way would be a good setup and you won't be dissapointed. Edited February 18, 201312 yr by Dangercdv

And I've tested an SA8 in a sealed enclosure and it was far from stellar. Ported is night and day difference. I do agree on the volume though. Be sure you give it proper port area. A single 8 tuned in the mid 30's with proper port area is not a small enclosure.
