Posted March 9, 201312 yr i need help i will be adding my old subwoofer to my other subs and was wonder if i can wire a single voice coil sub with a dual voice coil. the single voice coil is 4 ohms and the dual is a dual 4ohms but idk how to wire it either in series or parellel
March 9, 201312 yr You could do it, but it's not something I'd suggest. The DVC will either get more or less power depending if you have it wired parallel (2 ohms) or series (8 ohms). How you wire the final load completely depends on what your amp is stable to. I'd stick with whichever suits your amp better for now though and not mix different subs.
March 9, 201312 yr Can? Sure. Should? Absolutely not, terrible idea. Pick one or the other. If that doesn't work sell them both and buy something else.
