Posted April 4, 201312 yr I need a box design for under the rear seat of my truck but the thing is I don't know if I want to go with four ported 8's with about 600 watts a piece or two 10's ported with about 1000 watts a piece...which setup will be louder? And who is a good enclosure designer?
April 4, 201312 yr Did you buy a new truck? That won't fit in your crew cab unless you are seriously clever with fiberglass.
April 4, 201312 yr Author i have the airspace so if you dont mind explain to my neither of them will not come close
April 4, 201312 yr Under the seat of a Crew Cab? Can't even get that under an older E/C with a seat lift. You need to remeasure...
April 4, 201312 yr Author I measured a few times before I posted the thread..I saw a few installs with four ported 8's and dual 10's
April 4, 201312 yr I measured a few times before I posted the thread..I saw a few installs with four ported 8's and dual 10'sJust because you've seen installs doesn't mean they are worth a shit. Getting 1.25cuft net is not trivial, more than that is a pipe dream. Get the box built/designed first as your early measurements and reality aren't going to line up.
April 4, 201312 yr You only have about 2.5 cubic feet gross under that seat with no lift. I have a 2010 sitting in my driveway.
April 4, 201312 yr I have a 3 inch lift on my 09 crew. I had about 2.6 cubes net. With 4 8s ported externally.
April 4, 201312 yr Author so I do have enough room for two shallow tens or four ported 8's... correct? Edited April 4, 201312 yr by LsChevy
April 4, 201312 yr Two 10's could squeeze depending on the sub's requirements. Four 8's ported would not.

April 4, 201312 yr SD? They have a small enough Vas that they'll work in the volume. Not sure of the frequency responce, I'm sure it'd be ok, I don't have stuff with me to calculate by hand.
April 4, 201312 yr You only have about 2.5 cubic feet gross under that seat with no lift. I have a 2010 sitting in my driveway. And that is you building a box. I'd shrink it a bit to be safe which to me means 2 sealed 10's. If you want ported and 2 of them you are going to need to be creative or lift your seat. A single 12 ported will work though.

April 5, 201312 yr B4 shopping though, I'd design the box.Definite must. That's how I begin every build. Save time from guessing.
