It was a nice day, and the shop is closed on sunday so I decided to break out the old TL and do some testing.  At the moment, the ports I am using are for testing purposes, just form tube, no fibreglass enforcement or even flares for that matter, so I know there is still more I can squeeze out of this.   

All testing was done with Two 15" Icons on a Crescendo 3500d (At 2 ohms keep in mind).  Pretty basic electrical with only a single kinetik 1400 as a second battery.

 

First Test : 6.cuft / 8" formtube tuned to ~27hz

30hz - 137.94db

35hz - 139.19db

40hz - 141.53db

44hz - 143.20db

46hz - 143.52db

 

Second Test : 6cuft / 8" formtube tuned to ~ 33hz

30hz - 138.23db

35hz - 140.03db

40hz - 142.07db

44hz - 143.68db

46hz - 144.01db

 

Third Test : 5.8cuft / 10" forumtube tuned to ~33hz

30hz - 138.90db

35hz - 140.63db

40hz - 142.95db

44hz - 144.48db

46hz - 145.11db

 

It was a good day.

This is in a good need of flares.

Wonder how much Ill gain with flares

Your gain going from 8" to 10" tube is right in tone with what I saw  

 

1 to 2 extra dB with flares. 

 

You need to wire it to 0.5 first and then see what happens. I've ran a single Z1 on 2 crappy starter batteries, both old and whored out and it works great for burps. 

Nice... So lets say 1db for flares, another 2-3 when i wire it to .5 ohms. We are gettin to 50 boys.

You should definitely try a higher tuned port, just for numbers sake as it seems your car peaks high.

But there should be an improvement with flares, I am louder with a single 12 @ 35Hz ffs.

I might try tuning to 36 or something.. And your in a hatchback.. no fair.

And you've got triple cone area with double the amplifier power.

 

I don't know why are you testing all this, but if you want numbers, you may try some ports above 40-45.

 

You burping or on music?

Just testing to see which ports would be louder is all,  Im going to be doing this for music, but I wanted a consistent thing to test with so i went with tones.

how much does your dBs drop once you play over your peak note?

Ah... Havent really tested that part to be honest.. Just kept playing tones until I found the loudest one then stopped there.. lol

Overall Im pretty impressed.  Im gonna be needing to adding a battery bank, flares, and sealing it off from the trunk.  All should add a few points to my score.
