The vehicle is an '89 mustang (hatch). Im wanting to keep the enclosure at right around 10 cubes to keep my imp rise at about one ohm but want a different port placement. it is possible that this may just be a wall but im looking for the best gains, what should i do?

the build is with four FI SSd 12's

thanks guise.

Do not build an enclosure to keep your "impedance rise" down.

There is no such thing as "impedance rise".

When you have your alignment finished, no matter what type you choose, you will have an impednace curve.  It both rises and falls.  Things that affect the impedance curve ar eprimarily resonance and the driver parameters.

A larger box may sometimes have an impedance curve with greater peaks than a smaller one due to the narrower band of resonance and larger response variations.

Ok, so i can lose a cube or two and keep my efficiency up? if that is the case than ill be in great shape but I'm struggling to figure what sub/port placement will benefit me best.

You need to model what you have now and assess what you are willing to give up for the gain in output you want.

normally when building to gain output you will gain a larger ripple in the passband however the passband will be narrower than one with less ripple.
