Posted May 20, 201312 yr Hello Everyone,I have had an Infinity Reference 1260w in a sealed box powered by an RE Audio DTS 1000.1 subwoofer in my vehicle for over 6 months now, and I have decided to upgrade. I purchased another of the subwoofers, and attempted to install it. RMS Values of 1260w's = 300w@2ohm DTS1000.1 = 560w For some reason that I can't determine, it isn't playing as loud/well as before, much less louder as it should. Is this because my amp is too weak?I am attempting to wire it down to a 2 ohm load, and to do this I have run the speaker wire from the amp to the first sub, then looped it to the 2nd. AMP + ---> sub #1+ ----> sub #2+AMP - ---> sub #1- ----> sub #2-I left the gain where it was previously, as when I attempted to increase it I could hear distortion in the speakers. Anyone know what I am doing wrong, or what I need to do to make this look effective? If needed, I can go take pictures of what I've done. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I've tested each sub to the amp individually, as I've had set up before and they play fairly loud. However, when I wire it to 2 ohms, it is significantly quieter than 1 of the speakers playing by itself. Edited May 20, 201312 yr by SycamoreFan92

May 20, 201312 yr Author Yes, those are the instructions I used to wire it. EDIT: Added photos of my install to my gallery on this website. Feel free to go look and see if you spot any errors. Edited May 20, 201312 yr by SycamoreFan92
May 20, 201312 yr I'll check them out, but it'd be easier for people to see right in the thread if you upload them to photobucket and then direct link them into here with the image button up above when your typing.
May 20, 201312 yr Sounds like the wiring of the subs is messed up somewhere. Check again to make sure. I know you probably think they are wired right, but sometimes you skip over it. Happens all the time. The wiring inside of the box I mean. Edited May 20, 201312 yr by Bassink
May 20, 201312 yr Author Right now they are in a sealed box with 2 chambers. Each chamber has a terminal on the back to connect the subs to. When I test them individually, I wire the terminal directly to the amp, putting 4 ohms across the amp. It's only once I wire both terminals to the amp together that the subs get extremely quiet. If the wiring was incorrect on the inside of the box, wouldn't it not play right when I connect them individually? Edited May 20, 201312 yr by SycamoreFan92
May 20, 201312 yr I think they should still play but could be out of phase. That's what I would check first.
May 21, 201312 yr Author Checked the inside and I did wire one of them backwords. Doh! Thanks for the help man, it definitely is working now!!
May 21, 201312 yr Haha no problem man. That's always the first thing to check is the wiring like that and also the ground as well when things Aren't working. Its easy to make mistakes like that. everyones done it lol Glad they're working now.
