"Who would be interested in a 4" Coil, 12/15/18" SPL Monster woofer? 2500 Watt RMS Power Rating (Conservative).

A little side project prototype I am currently working on - if there is enough demand I will probably put them into production, I personally love the idea of making them

- 6 Layer Spider
- High Roll Competition Grad Foam Surround
- Ultra Strong Paper Cone
- 20mm Top and Back Plate
- 4 PC Ferrite Magnet Motor Assembly (220mm)
- Qts 0.52"

Jacob said the basket is different, but yeah the softparts look the same

Yeah thats the only difference I noticed, its hard to match spec numbers because well we all know where Kevins come from.

Sundown just posted on facebook

"Based on some recent inquiries and events I feel the need to state this officially -- we DO NOT do OEM work for Skar Audio anymore. We have done almost no work for Skar since the first generation IVX and VVX line. We have nothing to do with the new line products whatsoever. There seems to be some confusion floating around out there; so I am putting it to rest."

"I feel that all of the hatred online is very exaggerated... but I am not very happy this morning."

" Parts suppliers are not always out to protect those that pay for tooling. I'll leave it at that."

Funny that image & post is non-existent on the skar FB page now lol, Wow.

This actually really pisses me off, cause sundown is a great company. They don't deserve this kinda BS.

comments made from jacob on face book

Jacob Fuller If
there is a legal case to be made at any point with any individual or
company regarding our frames it'll be made if necessary as I did not pay
for tooling and patents for nothing; loudspeaker frame patents are
ornamental patents which have much diffe
rent
law than functional patents -- and it's very subjective. If someone
used our mold and made our frame it's very cut and dry; if a new mold is
made that is very similar it's more complicated and subjective in
ornamental patents.

Jacob Fuller There
are some people in the world who like to fully investigate facts and
have civil discussions before filing law-suits. I simply made a post
today stating that we don't do OEM for Skar anymore -- you can take that
how you will.

Jacob Fuller As a note I won't participate in this discussion any further.

mark this neg too you ass eater :D

i have decided to put this project on hold due to the similarities some
are referencing as I would rather re-tool the basket than have people
offended for the wrong reasons, regardless of the fact we already spent a
great sum on this design
. We are still very eager to launch the line and know you all will love it when we do

It
is more important for us to offer our customers unique designs and we
will repost more information on this new line in a month or so once a
new design is drawn up
