Posted August 24, 201312 yr So I bought a sundown x-15 based off the rms and it being a sundown sub. I had a sa-15 and loved it, it hit all the notes I wanted and put in work.I had it powered by a kicker ix1000.1 in a 3.5 ish box tuned to 35hz. Now I just swapped the subs in the same box so I'm not too sure what the box is tuned to with the x-15 it hits low notes really nice, but most of the music I listen to doesn't have low low notes. My question is should I keep the x build a box for the x. And get a 8 or 10" for midbass, maybe that will fill the gap. Or sell the x a d get maybe a fi bl or ssa xcon, right now they will be powered by a alpine m240 later upgrading to sundown saz 3500 for a pair. Goals are all around daily sub, that hits all notes high and low lp 80hz most music I listen to on daily Barely has any low notes so x sounds funny,
August 24, 201312 yr Author I just ordered a sax 125.4 so I could run the front channels for 2 sa6.5s and the rear channels for 8 or 10"
August 25, 201312 yr Author Haha no by just ordered i meant yesterday. I mean if that was the better option that's what I could do, I know typical noob mistake ordering a sub that kills lows thinking it will sound better. When really doesn't know any better and higher notes is what he considers loud
August 27, 201312 yr Maybe you can try some different settings : higher LPF (try 100 Hz), higher SSF, reset the gain with the new sub,...and tell us what you think. Good luck OP
August 28, 201312 yr Author Well I did try messing with the settings, maybe I should of tried a different box but the sub is now sold. I loved the way it looks and sounds with bass heavy songs like rap but for most music I listen too....sad to say its not for me. I'll be putting my sa15 back in until I figure out what else to get.
