See this threadhttp://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/60250-powerwheel-time/ Anyways started a new design for my sons Powerwheel since I (we) are not happy with the 140db's it is putting up with an old 12" pioneer sub. So I almost forgot I had this 8" sub in my garage. Here is what I am thinking my design will end up being with the very limited space I have Does anyone have any advice, suggestions before I start tearing into this project. As I am not familiar with this little subs at all. I have done a lot of research and everyone says no more than a cubic foot per sub. but it would be nice to have a good starting port and port length to prevent the already amount of trial and error I will be getting myself in to
September 4, 201312 yr Tuning low and small enclosure doesn't really go together. 7 sqin of port won't get it I believe. I would go for atleast a 4". With an aeroport you can get away with a little less than a slot.I would make the enclosure from .6-.75 with the 4" port.I'm not a master of port wars but usually you want to play 10-15hz below tuning to unload the sub. I'm not sure how the sa8 likes that low, never played that low with it
September 4, 201312 yr What type of music do you like?: just want a burp box. Is your goal SPL or Everyday Music?: Mid 160's SPL Tuning Freq (Hz): 37 give or take -Just a suggestion from watching the other powerwheel machines in USACI and MECA ... If possible, and plan to run true port wars ... bring your tuning up to or around 65 htz ot higher ... Alexis was tuned at 77 htz ...
