Been on vacation for the past 3 weeks(I work a week on/ week off) and get back to work today to find that they have blocked all the good stuff on our company internet!  Facebook, Youtube, pandora, photobucket, etc.  For a normal job it wouldn't be so bad...but we LIVE here for a week at a time!  This is part of our entertainment when the other are watching something crappy on TV.  I was suprized the boards are still working- but no photobucket/hosting sites means NO PICTURES! ARGH!

Do any of you browse the site on your phones?  I have never tried(I like viewing the web full sized.LOL)  but I do have tapatalk for a couple of other boards.(that I never use)

I am going to go into SSA Build log withdrawals.LOL

PS- they change of firewall protections randomly- so praying that it returns to normal sooner than later.

PSS- best think about today is that my Toolmaker order is s'posed to be delivered tomorrow! yay!

That sucks for sure. The company I work for did the same but I can still get on forums. I feel your pain though

I only use an iPhone/iPad to view the forums anymore. Doesn't slow me down a bit. I'm pretty sure there is ways around those blocks. Sure someone will chime in on that.

HAHA!  They can't phaze me!  I remembered way back when- I was told how to use the 'regedit' thing and change the proxy setting to get to the 'open' internet.  Our contractors have to have a way to go to their own personal emails, and that is how they do it.  it is a pain but way better than nothing!  I just have to switch the setting back to do 'work'.

man I never use anything but my phone.. I haven't touched my desktop, laptop, or tablet in god knows how long.

If they've gone through the trouble to block said sites, the security team will eventually block and prevent you from using proxy's as well. Which sucks. I use mobile all the time from home.

They do it so random, even out offshore IT guy,(stays here at the base with us) said he doesn't think the guys in the office know how to use it.LOL  Oh well- as long as I am not doing anything 'bad'(porn, etc) I doubt they'll fire me.  I found out in the last couple of hrs that I am not the only one...by far.

If they block proxies than you may be able to use a vpn, web proxy like hidemyass.com, or an SSH tunnel. I should also add VPN or SSH would completely hide your traffic from the company which may or may not be good if they found out you were using it.
