I have a pioneer avh 165dvd head unit which shows amp error. I'm not using speaker connection from head unit.

Hello Barbados !

Did you try to reset the head unit ? There must be a mini hole to reach with a needle to reset everything.

Good luck from Martinique.morning.gifcoolugh.gif

So you are using the RCA connections instead of the speaker wires coming out of the unit? First thing I'd check was wiring and make sure the loose speaker wires were protected and not touching eachother or other metal in the dash. Also, I'd check the troubleshooting section of the manual. There's bound to be a description of what the error code could mean.

Hello Martinique from Barbados. I've tried resetting and all my wires are taped up and not touching each other or anything else, head unit was working fine and then the error just started happening. I'm going to return it and try to get it exchanged. Never had problems with pioneer before
