Posted June 11, 200619 yr Ive had my 15" in a 4 cu/ft box ported to 28hzMy friend has his XXX in a 3 cu/ft box to 34 hzI like his cuz it hits the lows nicely without distorting. My prob with the 28 hz at 4 cu.ft was some songs sounded horrible. What box would sound the best and get the lowest for rap music?
June 11, 200619 yr try a box similiar to his xxx box....4 cubes @ 28hz will hit the lowest notes, but might get a bit muddy. the higher tuned smaller box will more then likely get louder and still sound pretty damn good with a SId2 in there...i ran the proto in 2.5ft^3 @ 34hz and was impressed...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 13, 200619 yr Author not sure, I got a part of the batch that was logoless and shortly after SI got robbed of all of them( AGAIN yes I paid, ask Nick)Hows 2.75 cu/ft after displacement ported to 34 HZ sound ?Who here can design me a box :-) ill pay Edited June 13, 200619 yr by afboy143
June 13, 200619 yr I really wouldn't go ANY smaller than 3.5, and you probably won't notice any difference. May be a slight punchier, but not so much. If you're worried about low notes, I wouldn't touch the tuning. Personally, I think it's a transfer function issue.
June 13, 200619 yr No smaller than 3.5 cubes. If you end up with 3.3 or so because you can't squeeze any more volume after the port(s) and driver are accounted for don't sweat it too much but like Ryan said - I would do everything you can to keep it near 3.5 cubes.
June 14, 200619 yr 3.5 tuned to 32 seems to work well. the suggested box on the site works great also. how much port area you have? i build boxes! there not the cheapest, but there bullet proof if you want info you can email me @ [email protected], also be specific please. June 30, 200619 yr i personally with 1 sub would go with a 2.5 to 3 cube box tuned to 32 hzIMO 32hz is best for three six, lil wyte, project pat and other chit like that
June 30, 200619 yr ill design in and build it and ship it if the price isnt too much for you. I just built a 2.5@32Hz for $125 to give you an idea of the price. Bigger means more work so a tad bit more money. For a box like that i'd probably have to ship UPS freight.Just designing, ehh does neon rider still do plans?
