Update:

New starter battery

New fuel filters (car has 2)

New fuel lines

New link fuses

gas + fuel stabil

New thermostat

New oil cap

Antifreeze

Oil and filter

Total of ~$130

Carberator is leaking gas behind the carb. It was dark so I couldn't tell if it was the gasket or something else. Should be a fairly quick and reasonably priced fix.

Just scored a fully intact stock air intake for $40 on egay

Getting some pics on a fully intact front bumper. I have friends who say they know where to get bumpers and fenders, so I may hold off on buying it.

New total of $170 in parts...$100 in towing. I need to buy a trailor.

got watermelon farms near you?

we picked a little 4'x8' flat bed with a flat tire off of a local farmer for $100. $50 for a new tire and rim and it is good to go.

4'x8' should handle a 'rex too. maybe not the suspension/axle. But dimetion wise.

28 cynder blocks and 6 40lbs bags of top soil and we blew the bead on the tire with the last bag.

that is ~ 1400lbs i think

Car is 1300lbs + 700-800 in equipment. I need a car trailor that my truck can also handle. I am going shopping for one asap.

worse comes to worse you could build one for less than $500 if you are a decent welder and have acess to a good MIG if you need it made out of aluminum t osave weight or just Heli Arc if you can use steel.

What truck do you have?

Also, if you build it from steel dont use galvanized steel. it'll make you sick as a dog. Just take the time to paint it afterwards :)

I'll just buy one. I dont have access to a welder and I have no experience.

My truck is a '02 Silverado Reg cab 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive.

pffft, my truck could tow most smaller trailers with the Rex and all equiptment.

I was thinking you had liek a 4cyl '94 S-10 or something :D

v8 im assumieng.

Its a 5.3l

The reg cab 1/2 2 wheel drive doesnt have a very large towing capacity compared to a 4x4...UHAUL wouldnt even rent me a full size trailor. I had to always use a tow dolley.

How the hell did you guys get that thing down to 1300 lbs? Is there no engine/transaxle in it? That car should be close to 2K stock.

No interior + lack of body panels?

i didnt even think about that.

Please elaborate. I dont really understand.

Its either on the carb gasket or in the gasket to this thing. Still trying to find what it is in my manual. Its not leaking at the top, but at the bottom where the arm extends into the carb.
