I have a Acura Integra Integra GSR, a ED 9.1 Amp, and a RL-P D4. I'm competing in the IASCA competition at the Nopi Nationals this year in Atlanta. I need help designing a box. People have told me I need a big box with alot of port area, and some people say I need a small box. So I'm confused and have no clue what to go with, I can't seem to find ANY information about any SPL box designs anywhere, out of a number of forums. If someone could help me, even with a roundabout guess of how big and how much port area I need, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I believe the resonant freq of my car is around 58 Hz, which I'm told is a good thing, I know how to tune the box and everything else, just not the box dimensions. Well thanks alot.

You probably want to do a CRX style, sub back ports up.

Unless you want a really big enclosure.

My friends Teg got pretty dang loud for 1 SE 12 ported tuned low with only about 600W on it. The ports side fired because the install was meant to look nice and not take up a lot of room.

I think the sub is to tall to do facing back with ports up, if it isn't then I'll probably do that, however, I need info on how much port area and how big of a box. One guy told me to build the box smaller than the speakeres Vas, which is 163 Liters I believe.

2 "3 ports.

Unless you want to go slotted, cant help you there.

You will have to remove the cargo cover/rear deck anyways.

Unless you have a 20" sub, you have enough room back there for a enclosure.

Two 3 inch ports? Thats only 14 square inches of port area? Thats not much, I thought you were supposed to use alot of port area, I'm currently using ~35 square inches on my SQ box. I figured it would be at least 50 square inches for a SPL Box. I can't rememove any of my interior because it is against the IASCA rules. All interior must remain incact in the class I joined. Thanks for the help so far, however I'm still very confused about the port area and box size, 14 sqaure inches just doesn't seem right?

you could use 2 4" ports.

If you want to you can cut the metal brace out of the rear deck and get another 1" on top. Its not as strong but your not supposed to put stuff on their anyways

Alright thanks alot. I wish I knew more about SPL, I can't seem to find much information about it all, its really weird. I'm thinking about purchasing a Juggernaut 15 just for my SPL needs, because I don't believe the RL-p is gonna be to great for SPL, I'll probably try it anyways. Well thanks alot for the help
