April 6, 200421 yr 8 and 1/8'th mounting depth and as a general rule you should always leave around 3" behind the vented pole piece (for any speaker with a vented pole) for adequate breathing room.
April 6, 200421 yr 3 inches! would it be ok to stretch that to 2 inches( for a 12 inch)my box design only has aboout 2.1 inches behind the sub.
April 6, 200421 yr Well you can do whatever you want, but 3" is the general rule. I definately wouldn't go any shallower than 1" no matter what.
