I've had my KD-ADV6160 for about 2 years now, and havn't had any problems with it, it's a dvd player and in my last truck I did heavy offroading and could hardly skip it, and I mean getting all 4 tires 2 feet in the air and not having it skip when I landed... my buddy and I swear by these decks and I recommend them to anyone wanting a GOOD decent priced dvd player. their cd/mp3 players are equally good imo, my buddy had one in his F150 that he totaled for about a year, and never had a problem with it. when he ran over a ford focus with his truck, it skipped a little but went right back on and both cars were totaled, he went up over it lol. these are a good lasting deck imo, and about the cheapest dvd player out there, my buddy got an RF one, then a jensen, and now he's saying he's gonna get a JVC finally after both didn't last a year combined lol. hope I persuaded someone to get one over a jensen as it's no contest imo...

did u use the digital optical out on it? I don't have sq problems with mine... I don't know what you mean by loud it's a deck... I don't use the onboard amp if that's what you're saying... as for the rca's I don't have any sq problems with it... clean and clear and under control clearasilish imo.. especially with a comp set on my dash I'm sure I'd notice bad sq.. you can hear when songs are distorted, in fact you don't even ever hear the door speakers lol

When I used them, I didn't have an amp for mids and highs...i used the HU. And the internal amp would get the stock speakers rocking.

And they didnt have an optical out...which is fine by me because I havent seen a car amp with optical in's....

optical digital ouput it says... I have that crap on my 6160, don't think amps have that, I think it goes to a processor then converts back to rca to the amps lol. I've never looked into it cause I think the sq is fine... I have a high end alpine deck in the wifes car and can't really tell a difference... got the alpine on a trade for my MT 18" and I kinda wish I didn't do it

The JVC had good SQ...but this was a cd player I had in high school...95-96ish. I liked the sq...but I I like the kenwood more.

their high end stuff is a recent development, the arsenal exad series is 06 and up exad that is, arsenal was around for a while, but the exads are nice, and my deck came out in 05...
