Posted April 9, 200421 yr Hey guys, I'm building a box for a S8L7 sub and had a few questions.I want to make the largest reccomended sealed box which is .75 cubic feet for this sub.now, a 12x12x13.25 box with .75 thickness would give me 0.74967 cubic feet which would be dead nuts for what I want.now is the .75 reccomended volume including the volume that the sub will take up or do I have to make the box volume .75 plus the sub volume? Also when calculating the wedges, Kicker reccomends a 2x2x.75 wedge. correct me if I'm wrong, but I calculated the wedge volume to be .0017 cubic feet. Where should I put the wedges? are they required in every corner?thanx...dan
April 12, 200421 yr Dan, I thiunk that would be more than fine. Sub displacement on the 8" is very small at .034...so if you even want to 'play' with it more, play with a small 1/2 lb. of polyfill.
