i have some kenwood 6989ie 6x9's 4-way and the tweeters on the speakers burned. my question is why are the tweeters burning? i am runnning this speakers on a koiiler 2 ch amp actully i am running 4 6x9's to this amp.two 6x9's to one channel and the other two 6x9's to the other channel.the amp is 800 watts peak.

the speakers are 280 peak power,rated power 70 watts.impedance 4ohms.

You're sending the speakers too much power...

I don't mean any offense, but it sounds like you'd be much better served by simply ditching the 6x9s completely.

You have your headunit/amp distorting the signal, which burns tweeters fast; also kills speakers in general.
