Posted April 19, 200718 yr Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.
April 19, 200718 yr Author as long as you are talking clean power, the impedance doesn't matter *audibly*Would it be safe to say that a Sundown amp running a 1ohm load is clean power?
April 19, 200718 yr clean power as in the gains aren't turned up too high, and the bass boost is completely turned off. Hell a Sundown Amp running at .35 ohms can produce clean power.
April 20, 200718 yr I was told to look for an amp with low thd %but I may have been told wrong.Any amp worth owning will be capable of operating in the range of inaudible distortion.
