I live in west Los angeles (santa monica) and my local shop wants $200 just for instalation and $400 to build a ported box. They must be out of their f**king minds. So if anybody lives in los angeles and can build me a box and install my sub and amp, please post. We can discuss Rates and fee's later. This is a good way to earn some extra cash, I will pay for all the supplies and materials+ extra money for labor (we can discuss how much in private via messaging)

I was talking around on another forum and i said I was going to get a premade box for my sub, and they thought it was the worst thing i could do for my system, Why are premade boxes so bad if they are the exact Cu. Ft i need?

they are bad just because they aren't strong enough. something like 5/8" mdf and a single baffle.

for most people, 3/4" mdf and a double baffle is enough, but i like to use bracing and sometimes 1" mdf.
