Posted May 16, 200718 yr I am wanting to put an aftermarket DVD player in my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab. I have factory onstar and xm and want to keep both. I know that I have to get an adapter like this http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacos2.htmlin order for it to work. What can I get to in order to retain the factory XM radio? I also have settering wheel controls. I know for the steering wheel controls I have to get a PAC unit in order for them to work. Edited May 16, 200718 yr by SS1304
May 19, 200718 yr Don't think you're going to be able to keep the factory XM. If your new HU is SAT radio ready, you can get an XM tuner module and the adapter specific to your HU for not too much $.
May 24, 200718 yr Author Ya thats not a problem to get an aftermarket adapter. I just don't want another antenna on top of the truck.
June 19, 200718 yr You can get a use the factory XM anntena its behind the glove box & has a Curry plug..You can also keep you factory steering controls by using a Peswix It relays the I/R signal back to the deck..I use them all the time..
