The 7800mp is used but in good shape, the others are new. The 7800mp is 150, not sure if that's shipped or not. the 490 is 161 shipped with an ipod cable. The kenwood is 143 shipped and has software to control the ipod. The ipod controller for the 7800mp is ~ 50 bucks.

What would you go for and why.

I need a new head unit since someone stole mine while i was out fishing yesterday. At least it was an excelon, so they'll never be able to use it without my code.

I was looking at some pioneer stuff too

someone emailed me this link and i read through the whole post

http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.p...light=ground+hu

It sorta turned me away from pioneer....

I don't know if this is a problem with the models you are choosing from nor do i know if pioneer fixed this issue (or even if it is an issue)...

just thought i'd post it though

If i find anything on the kenwood i'll let you know

My buddy had one and it was fine. It was the 9600mp though. maybe they adressed the problem. I really don't know what i'm gonna get yet. I like the features of pioneer and the looks. If i do go with pioneer and i get some whine, i don't mind some gheto riggin as long as it's not visible to anyone, or myself once it's in the dash.

Thank you very much for the heads up though. If i went with the pioneer and got noise, there's no tellin how long i'd be trying to track it down for.

Edit: I see your over there reading the thread right now. So am i.lol
