June 7, 200718 yr Depends on if the guts of the sub have something that JL patented. I hope so, I'd like to see eD and Icix go the way of the Low-Hz. Shady fvckers shouldn't be in business.100%
June 8, 200718 yr I'm by no means a jl person either. But I do know, and have talked to Manville Smith on several occasions . I opened my audio shop shortly after jl first went into business. When I asked about carrying thier products, I ended up talking to Manville for a good hour or so . Three days later Manville showed up at the door with a couple w0's in hand One thing I will always say about JL . Is that they are on top of thier business If the W0s were out it was not too soon after they began. The W0 was a mid to late 90's thing. I have a W1 from '91 and the W1 was their 3rd or 4th series of subs and was replaced by the W0. The JL brand has been around since about 87-88 timeframe. They're too business smart to bother going after eD on patent infringement unless they have a very solid case. It's not like eD is cutting into their market share. The reason they would go after them is to defend their patents to keep companies like MTX, Kicker, RF and the like from trying to steal their technology, because they are the real competition, not eD.
June 8, 200718 yr I've never had a trouble with eD. And I am a mutiple time customer. I am curently enjoying their woofers in my car.But with that being said, I cant stand that frickin woofer! It just rubs me the wrong way! Edited June 8, 200718 yr by Puggsley456
