I just ordered some Memphis MSYNC8 comp. and I was wonder how much power would you recommend on these ran active and what crossover points do you recommend? Which is better for these, passive or active? Coaxial or separate? If you own or heard them, how do you like them? Thanks.

35 to 50 wrms on the mid, a little less on the tweet if you go biamped. teh synq crossover doesn't allow for biamping, if you go passive. if you stay passive, snag a set of sq crossovers, tehy are biampable.

knowing the squeers around here, they are going to tell you go active. if you do, i'd start with the tweeter around 2.5k on the bottom end adn the mid running from around 50-55hz up to the tweeter. it's a 1" metallic dome, so you can go lower if needed.

as to using them as a coaxil or componet, depends upon vehicle. but i'm sure most will say mount that tweet up high, and forward. but you'll have to play around with location to get it right.

First, I'd get rid of the tweet that comes with it and order the silk replacement from Memphis. The metal one has a hump around 10K that you can (mostly) take care of with an EQ, but I'd rather just start with a better tweeter in the first place.

I'm not sure I'd run the 8's unless they were going in kickpods...that's asking a lot for an 8" to have great off axis response up to 2k. The 6.5's do it fine, but I'd hold off on the larger driver in doors.

I had a major issue with the original tweets in my msync8"s and I returned mine the first day I onwed them. I had the mids in a modified qlogic kick. I would do separates's with a better tweet if it were me.

if ordering the replacement silk tweeter like jim suggested ( i prefer the silk one as well. the sq's in my truck rock), order the sq crossovers if staying passive. like mentioned before, you can biamp.....

Yep, I went to the msq6's from the msync's. Biamping just makes life a little easier for me.

it seems i might have made a mistake buying these. I cant do kicks because my feet are too big and I would hate to have to spend $100 more dollars on these for the silk tweets. :madsign::angry2:

I knew i should have got the msq6's instead since I loved the way they sounded but since i was after spl i figured the msync8's would be louder. DAMN!!!

The good news is you could probably use the parts express dayton tweet with this set up and the 8" mid will reach down lower and should have a little more midbass. I wouldn't be mad, If you are after output than these should work pretty good for you, if you are after all out spl, you would definitely have some issues with the msync's.

are you talkin about the RS28A-4's? Does anyone have experience with the Max Fi NEO30's?

they'll get lower for sure. louder maybe.

and they'll work fine in door, jsut seal it up well, and you'll love those 8's.

if the right offer is made, i might be tempted to pull my sq 6.5s out and sell them to ya, lol. i've got a pair of kicker ss 6.5s on my floor waiting to go in....

with a pair of rmb8 midbasses...hehe

I traded my sq6.5's for a DD m1. But that was after I totalled my sq car and was lost, and just wanted to turn over a new leaf and do something different.

dont tempt me. I would do a 3-way with those msq6's and msync8 mids and sell the tweeters and crossovers from the msync set.
