Posted June 25, 200718 yr Im planning on having a 2,000 watt rms amp (hifonics) hooked up in my 95 lexus es300. Im also thinking of a new battery. is optima a better battery than kinetik? or are they two different types of batts? sorry if this is a newbie question...lol.
June 25, 200718 yr The Yellowtop Optimas are good, as are the Kinetiks.Look around, you can find batteries that are just as good for less$.Powersonic, Odyssey...are a few that come to mind.Look in the yellow pages for Battery, and talk to them about Group 31 AGM (absorptive glass mat), and SLA (sealed lead acid). You want >100Ah...and >1000CCA.Good luck!
June 25, 200718 yr i got an odyssey. its rulez hawdkoeI've got 2. It's supposed to rluz hardco....but I haven't the alternator for them yet. *waits patiently for July 9th*
June 26, 200718 yr I got a kinitik and oddysey but yea they are both beast. The kinetik has more cca's though. Also u might need a new alt unles su get alot of batts. Some amps dont like low voltage...aka orions, well the one i had.
June 26, 200718 yr Author i see. so its good to have a high output alt? i dont think i can afford one, due to college funds, and i was thinking just a single batt upfront. anything really is better than stock. which one would be better upfront? (considering i cant afford the alt).I have access to both kinetik and optima here. unless theres some other brand (like the ones you guys sed) that i should take a look at?thanks for all the help guys.

And bigger is better. If you want to see sizes for ALOT of different batterys and manufacturers... Batteryweb.com has good info.
