Posted July 10, 200718 yr planning a sealed box for a 18" rl-p, and i want this thing to be solid. first things first, im gonna resin it. should i do the entire inside, or just the edges? i was thinking mainly the edges to give it a nice tite seal. can i use resin instead of caulk? or should i caulk first, then resin?2nd, instead of using a 2x baffle, i was thinking about bracing it. i saw this bracing thing from bcae:http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htmand was going to stick 2 of those in the box. (dims are 42x12.5x18.75)also maybe add some polyfill. the box + the bracing and displacement is going to be around 4.18 cubic ft w/o the fillthanks in advance
July 11, 200718 yr Bracing doesnt need to be elaborate, just something to tie all sides of the box together to help couple them together. Double baffle the driver baffle simply to help hold the weight of the 18" driver.
July 18, 200718 yr I vote double baffle and window bracing as it ties all the sides together. Box will be VERY solid when done.
