Posted July 12, 200718 yr never dealt with EQ's and stuff before....i originally planned to run an EQ and an external active xover, but lo and behold, the amp i am planning to run, the Usamps AX5600 has a built in 3-way xover. SOOO instead of spending another 50 dollars or so, and adding more stuff to wire, i can just run everything from the amp and the EQ.i purchased a PG TiEQ15 a few weeks ago and it only has one set of RCA inputs, and 1 set of outputs while the amp has 3 sets of inputs.i know i have to run another set of speaker wire/side as well as a set of RCA's from my HU but how do i handle the EQ? just run the eq off of the front RCA's? or am i out of luck and get a new eq with 3 inputs/outputs?
July 12, 200718 yr you cold opt for a 3 way xover (with front, rear, sub outputs)...HU -> EQ -> 3-way -> amp
July 12, 200718 yr Author you cold opt for a 3 way xover (with front, rear, sub outputs)...HU -> EQ -> 3-way -> ampthats what i was planning to do at first, cuz i thought the amp didnt have a 3-way built in. but to save money on the xover and wiring, i was hoping to ditch the external xover.
July 12, 200718 yr isn't that amp capable of accepting just one pair RCA inputs and it will do all the x-over and distro of the signal internally ? I thought it could, maybe call greg and ask..
July 12, 200718 yr You could always use RCA splitters to obtain more outputs from the EQ to the amplifier as well. That would be the quick and easy way.I vote with Tom though. An external crossover is going to give you much more control than the Amp will.

An external crossover is going to give you much more control than the Amp will. The Y-connectors were my initial idea as well, but I realized that wouldn't work. He would need 4 of them to turn 2 outputs into 6. There would be no way to get equal signal strength to all 6 of the ends. Actually, I guess that could be overcome with adjusting the gain for each pair of channels individually to match the levels. So I guess it would be doable, but a pain in the ass.My vote still goes for external.
July 12, 200718 yr My vote goes to a headunit with crossovers, having to pop the trunk to make changes isn't so much fun. Since your amp has "crossovers" doesn't it only need 1 RCA input? Then it would be easy.
