I would still like some figures would a 1.8 ft.^3 or a 2.5 ft.^3 or some where in between the two and tuned to 32hz higher or lower

    15 L7 spl enclosure

    the port should be 12 in.^2 per ft.^3 so that would be 60 in.^2 for a 5 ft.^3 enclosure tuned to 35hz

    15 L7 spl enclosure

I've seen that page already, i'm looking for numbers that i cant work with i've heard that 4.5ft.^3 @ 34hz should sound loud be i'm looking for more opinions on what you guys think is a good spl enclosure for a 15 L7
  11. I currently have my 15 L7 mounted in a 1.5ft.^3 sealed enclosure powered by a RF Power 1001db 1000watts @ 2ohm in my brothers semi truck it's a international 9400i with a bunk bed sleeper, it has mb quarts 6.5 components up front and 5.25 coaxial in the rear powered by a zapco ag360 with a clarion dxz 575 head unit. My goal is to get real loud and maybe enter competition in the future and upgrading to two L7's or even 2 fi 15 bl's and space is not problem. i listen ti wide range of music but mostly reggae, hip-hop, r&b, rap, pop, and some classics, its my first time building a ported box but i have experience in building sealed, so it would helpful if you guys could help me out with the enclosure volume turned to what frequency with the port area and should the sub displacement be subtracted from the volume or is it included. Sub facing up or forward and should the port be facing in the same direction, do i need to brace the enclosure, Thanks guys!!!!

I would say ported since you threw loud in there, what are the max dimensions you have to work with (height x width x depth). About 36w x 15d x 24h i would think, i dont want to take up all the space, what fz in how many ft^3 and what port area Speaker facing up or back and should the port be facing in the same direction as the speaker Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 28-33Hz. As with what direction to face the sub and port, its all guess and check. Could you be more specific, it's my first time building a ported box and does it needs to be braced using a 1" face board an 3/4" for the rest of the enclosure.
