    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Having two pairs of CA18's and some 1189's in hand, I naturally could not resist building Zaph's waveguide TMM design. http://www.zaphaudio.com/Waveguidetmm.html But the waveguides he had used are no longer available. Finally, I found these that have all but the same specs!! WOOT woot!!

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Another project of the week. I'm building two of these as Christmas gifts for my dad and stepdad. They are both Ford guys for life and obviously hard as fuck to find a gift for. As with any old person, it seems. Pictured is just the preliminary build and test fitting. Working on the patina and other details now.

The true reward is how much the kids enjoy the final results. The older kids literally hang out in front all month long. Come Halloween its add some lights and sound efffects and the little ones are literally scared to death. To the point they don't want to walk up to the door. is truly priceless!! What I was adding too... The rest added in!

Oh just reflecting on life... sitting here on my 42 birthday this morning. Where the fuck did the years go?

To go back and tell my younger dumber self the effects those quick fights would have years later. You know. After replacing a front tooth this year, from being head-butted at 16. Or the couple molars that went the way of the dodo a few years ago, from a good roundhouse a couple decades before. Or that the opponent would someday be my child’s teacher. Oh what a jackass.

Arapahoe basin and Keystone Mountain both open today. They are right next to each other and a shared pass can be had if desired. I’d suggest flying into Eagle/Vail (EGE), opposed to DIA.

I want to use REW to measure my car accoustics.

A quick easy way would be to use 1/3 octave test tones. Sweep through and listen for peaks and dips. There is some pinned on this site, otherwise YouTube. I have mine on a cd for a little more confidence, but either would work. there’s a $10 Dayton mic that I believe needs an $5-10 App. Nothing elaborate like REW. Only shows frequency response, which is what your after. May be worth looking into. Otherwise, if the rhythm section is your chief concern? I would just find a song you are very familiar with, that has hi-definition bass lines. And try tuning the sub eq with that. You be better off in the long run to have a trained ear.

Looks sweet Aaron! Wish I had the loose funds to invest in a whole set.

I want to use REW to measure my car accoustics.

I believe REW requires a microphone with a calibration file. So if that mic has one, perhaps might work. I would suggest measuring from right in front of the drivers headrest. Where your head would be. I'd measure each driver independently, then each collective side, then overall. This will give you the best idea of what effects the "room" has on the frequency response. Including cancellation and lobing. Not familiar with keysmart. But if it adjusts without being actively prompted, i'd shut it off. Otherwise, I'd say measure with its adjustments and without. See if its helping or hurting. Personally I've never cared for an auto tune sound in a car. To hard for the mic to get an unmolested reading and you may not have the same taste as the algorithm. Besides there is more to music than can be measured.

Honestly just nice to not feel guilty buying new clothes for one's self after raising kids for 22 years. Probably the biggest reason I wear wore the fuck out clothes. At least the rest of the fam looks well kept. lol

This. Usually feel like I’m going to have to defuse a few cat fights, when I suit up with the W around though.
