  1. Getting terrible rattles coming from a stock spoiler in a 2008 Grand Prix. What's the recommended treatment here? My first thought is taking it off and drilling a small hole to shoot expanding foam in. Unsure how the expanding foam really works and if it has any negatives.

  2. Just hook them up and play at low volume, just loud enough to get them moving a little bit. Watch and listen, take note of sound level and do they appear to be moving in unison? Then swap the wires on one of the subs and do the exact same thing, should be a night and day difference. As long as you keep it down you shouldn't cause any mechanical damage when they are wired out of phase.

    Single sub setup

  3. Wired my sub + to + - to - and took 1 + and 1 - out to the amp. Dual 2 ohm icon is the sub. I know I hooked it up like that on the speaker but completely forgot which wire was negative and positive lol. Rather not pull the sub at this point. 1. What is another method of figuring out what is what and 2. What kind of damage if any can come from this?

At the amp I'm reading exactly 1.0 no matter how I hook the probes up to it

  4. I did some work on an old mans house a while back that had some crazy stuff going on in his garage. Tons and tons of that type of equipment. He explained but I don't really remember. He acted as if not many people are able to legally do the things he can. Sounded like he was talking real far. He even built some of these big systems he had. Everything looked super old. Lots of tubes everywhere. He even had his own...not sure what it was. Was like a 3 or 4 letter kind of thing. Represented his location or something? He had stickers made of it. I'm babbling maybe you can make sense of some of that lol. I thought it was cool as hell and he blew me away with how much he knew. Probably an 85+ yr old man who has done that type of thing his entire life.

  5. I had a older Tahoe at one point.. Found a higher output alt and bought it. Worst purchase ever. Every time I stopped at a light or stop sign the pos would drop voltage badly. Unless I was like 2k rpm or higher it was garbage. Pissed me off watching the gauge drop that much so often. Moral of the story is spend a few extra bucks on the alternator if your going to do it.

Edit: was a db electric alt and I think I spent no more than like $200. Glad that's gone. Turned around and bought a DC power alt for the next one.

  6. You should grab a measuring tape and figure out max dimensions taking into consideration your trunk opening unless you plan to build inside the trunk. Maybe snap a couple pics.

In my 11 Malibu forward firing has sounded the best so far, as long as I lay the driver side rear seat down. Sounds like ass to me if the rear seats are in the closed position.
