  1. So I was in the market for a new dmm and I stumbled across this kit on ebay. It's the Extech EX430 dmm and MA200 clamp.

Got it all for less the 45 shipped, not a bad deal if you ask me.

  2. Yeah there new headunit is going to be a beast but the price is keeping me away from it, Im looking for a Alpine CDA-9887 if I cant get a 880 or 800 for a great reasonable price. The price has went up a lot since they have introduced a new model and closed out the older models, Pioneer FTL!

Yeah, wooferetc.com has 800's for 550. That was the model I was looking at to upgrade from my alpine cda-9884 too.

  3. I bought a P800PRs from a online store, but they managed to send me the old version P880PRS. And since I live in Norway it's a big hassle to send it back to the US. Except from the black frontplate on the newer model and the copper plated chassis, are there any other differences between those two models?

There is a write-up on here a good amount of pages deep in this thread that have talked about the differences between the two models, you will have to search to find it.

The 800 PRS has been discontinued? What model is coming out to replace it?

The model that is replacing it is on Pioneer's website for the new upcoming 2010 products.

Ability to run 3 way active with a sub stage is awesome. Too bad the pricing is 1400 dollars, hopefully the MAP price is a lot lower.

  4. Hey guys,

I use two Korean build houses for amps -- the 4500D is made in a different place than my other Korean amps. I use a Chinese build house for the SAE-1200D and future SAE models (SAE-1000D was Korean).

I am slowly tooling proprietary boards for Sundown one at a time... the SAZ-3500D is my board tooling, the SAZ-2500D is my board tooling, and I have several more in the works that I have not discussed.

Same build house does not make all the amps the same.

Support, warranty, and service also make a big difference and are the #1 reason people keep coming back to Sundown.

PS: All of the new Incriminator amps are proprietary boards for IA as well. I know the guys over at IA and they make a fine product.

So in short, you are now designing your own amplifiers?

  5. Big thanks to Brandon for coming down & taking care of the factory wiring harness. Other than that all the stereo wiring is already in place. Once the new dash & center console are complete it's all just a matter of plug & play from there.

    What was wrong with it?

  6. That is funny, as the irony is that the self serving article is biased while claiming everyone else is. If that writer had any sense he/she would know that no pro-sports team in the USA is hated or disliked to the level the New York Yankees are. Sure the Patseys get loads of phantom roughing the passer calls or free touch downs when the receiver clearly never had control of the ball, but that pales in comparison to the hatred any real baseball fan that is not a Yankee fan, has towards the Yankees. As the NFL is much more regional as the majority of the games played by each team are with in their own division, where as in baseball the games are spread widely across the entire league and much more often. This writer sounds like a winy bleeding heart liberal that is crying Obama is not left enough.

This is why I don't follow regular professional sports. I'll watch any game though.

I stick to motor sports myself; NHRA, ALMS/Le Mans, WRC, Grand-Am. I don't watch NASCAR or F1.

  7. 3\4" is all i use and recommend. If you need anything smaller, wooden dowels is fine.

1\4 and 1\2" rod tend to bow at long runs.. 3\4"... eh, not quite.

Sean, I told you they make 1" threaded rod right?

    mcmaster-carr sells 2" threaded rod

That is highly unnecessary lol. I don't even want to know the tinsel strength on that lol.

Believe me I know, just thought I'd throw it out there. According to Mcmaster, the tensile strength is a minimum of 53,000 psi with a rockwell hardness of B61.

  8. No, they don't.

Hmm, I didn't know that. Good info to have.

Actually not really good info to have unless clarified. You'd be shocked at how many amplifiers on the market are bulit that way, hell you'd be shocked alone at what percentage of the car audio amplifiers out there were designed by about 5 different people. Most internet companies just cheapen these designs up by utilizing sub par part parts to come in at a price point to sell. Those amps regularly have some forum boner noob following when they come out, but after a while people realize what is actually going on. The Sundowns are not designed per se by Jacob, but they are built to his specifications. I'd MUCH rather have the same design built with good parts versus something built with inferior parts. The quality of the build also is a HUGE influence on the end quality of the amplifier. In the case of Sundown again he picked a good build house to do business with.

    That's even better. Thanks.
