My fatmat is falling off my trunk lid and rear deck more and more everyday as summer goes on. I'm pulling it all out soon and gonna get some cld tiles from sds also. He told me to use mineral spirits to get the residue the fatmat leaves behind off. Then wipe down the surface with denatured alcohol to wipe away any oils left behind.

So how are the crescendo comps? They emailed me back on the specs but I'm curious to how they sound. Also I contacted don at sds about some cld tiles. He got back to be already so I'll pry be orderin the deadner Monday

So i decided to upgrade my frontstage and ordered a sundown sax 100.2 off db-r, it does 100w rms x 2 @ 4 ohm and 200x 2 @ 2 ohm. Now im looking for some component speakers. ive never looked into good door speakers. i just replaced my stock door speakers with cheap 6x8 3 way pioneer speakers from walmart and was fine with that for awhile. but now id like to get something thatll sound better and actually provide some midbass. any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated, i have no experience with upgrading my front stage so any input helps. my budget is around 200, i can spend a little more if i have to. i think i want to run them at 4 ohms

Thanks for the link. I emailed them about the specs since they're not on the site. Have you or anyone heard the cresendo components? If so what's your opinion on them? I plan to order some sound deadener sometime this week. How about Polk Audio db6501 - 6-1/2" Component Systems - Sonic Electronix Are these good?

The vechile is a 1999 ford contour.I don't have any experiance with component speakers so I don't really know what sound I like nor do I have any favoritism for a certain brand. I will be addin some sound deadener to the doors and will be putting the speakers in stock location. I think I'll just buy the 6x8 to 6.5 brackets off eBay cause they're only 12 bucks. Which brings me to another question. There was a brack on there that held the 6.5 driver and had a spot for the tweeter next to it. I have an alt from db also when I first got it, it did the same thing. It'd drop down around 12.8 volts at stop signs and pretty much anytime it was idling in gear it'd drop like that. But just the weight of my foot on the gas petal would kick it up to 14. So I ended up bumping the idle up just a tad. It made a huge difference. Now my voltage only drops from 14.x to 13.8 at stops with lights on and all system a lil over half volume. I don't know how you throttle body is set up but for mine I took like 4 bread ties, burnt the paper off them, twisted them together then wrapped it around the throttle cable essentially making the cable a smig shorter.

Did u get ur voltage issue fixed or did you do that with low voltage? I dont know if you showed it in the video or not. I'm on my ipod and it doesn't allow me to watch the videos posted. I don't know if it's beacuse I'm on th mobile site or if it's just my iPod.

Ok bumped the idle up a bit. Seems to be alot better. I drove around til the engine got hot turned on my headlights, voltage now sits 13.5-7 at stops with music a lil over half volume. With the heat all the way up lights on sits at 13.2 at idle. Driving with lights and air on all the way 13.4-6....since I didn't mention in op voltage is 14.3-4 when car first starts once the engine heats up it's 13.9-14.1

I'm goin to try to bump the idle up a tad see if that helps any. If it doesn't help it's probably going back

Yea I was just expecting It to be more steady. Thought it would be better then my stock alt in all aspects, not just when I'm driving.

I've called IA a few times everyday since Monday and havent reached anyone yet. I left a message today and monday i think but havent been contacted back. I also sent an email to sales on Monday and to nick today. I understand they're probably really busy so Im just being patient as i can be but im excited to get them ordered. ive been told that it will work with ported box also. the guy who told me, suggested using polyfill batting to line the box. staple it into place and pull on it a little bit once its stapled down to fluff it up a bit. i asked him about the chicken wire and he said that it could possibly cause port whistle. he said the polyfill will make the box seem about 10% bigger

Alright. I heard there was a new death penalty coming out, so i was wondering if there will be a new lethal injection? I'm wanting to go with 2 12s. my current box is 3 cu ft after sub and port displacement tuned to 31 hertz, im not sure if i figured port area right but i used the calculator on 12volt.com and it came up with 43 sq in of port. So my box is .5 cu ft too small and 3 sq inch of port area over the recommended enclosure for the li's. So basically what im wondering is, if i add some polyfill to my current box would be work temporarily? i plan to build a new one sometime over the summer, like 3.5 cu ft tuned to 32 hz. with double baffle, routered corners and all that good stuff. itll be my 4th box ive built and i want to do everything right without cutting any corners. problem is i work 45-50 hours a week so it might take awhile for me to get it done

You have a pretty solid list of choices. If it were me I'd probably go with either 2 12 dcons or 187s on either of the stated amps. If it matters to him he could go with the Rockford amp so he has matching amps.

Thanks for the input. I could fit either. I'm kinda leaning towards the 15 since I've always had 2 12s, but then I think but not these 12s. Which choice would have greater motor strength? And I see the min recommended enclosure for the li 12s is 1.75 each. If I added polyfill to my 3 cu ft box would it be sufficient for the li 12s? If so that may influence my decision a bit. I definately don't have anything against building an enclosure, kind of enjoyable actually but if wat I have will work that saves money.

Hey what's up guys. Ive been wanting to get some different subs for awhile now, try something new. They're are alot good options so it's a hard decision. I'm still undecided but I'm pretty sure I want to go with incriminator audio subs. My car is a 1999 ford contour, small trunk, and my seats don't fold down. Right now I have a 4.3 cu ft enclosure, 3 after sub and port displacement. It's a really tight fit, I have to take the back seat off and sliding it in that way. So I'd like to stay around 3-3.5 cu ft enclosure, so I can still access the spare if I have to. I'll be using a sundown sae-1200v2 for power. It's just for daily bass. like everyone else I'm wanting low, loud, and clear bass. I'm sure both listed options will but I'm just wanting other peoples opinions. As for the enclosure, I'll build one for whatever I go with 3-3.5 cu ft ported to probably 32 hz. If I go with the 12s I'd have the subs and port to the trunk. for the 15 I'd have to do sub up and port back since my max height is 15".and for music, I listen to pretty close to 50/50 rap and rock.

No one has any input? I know both will perform well given they're in a good enclosure and on clean power but will 1 choice have more output then the other choice?

O sorry. If I remember correct my current box is 37w x 14 tall x 17 deep slot ported. lll double check my box and max dimensions available after work today. I was hoping I could save some space going with the 15 dr and not sacrafice any output. If I went with aero ports would it save some space as opposed to going with a slot port. As for the side fire port, i don't how well it would work because there only like 1",give or take a little, between the side of the enclosure and the side of my trunk.
