  1. You would think that they would have some kind of security cameras on/in the building. Maybe even an outside camera on another building beside it so you could at least see the vehicle they used.

  2. I was just wondering if you shipping calculator is messed up on the Fi site as it wants to charge me $40.60 to ship 7 teeshirts to 15936? Thats seems like alot considering its not even 10lbs with the box.

Now I ordered from them before and got 6 teeshirts and 2 hoodies and the shipping was like half the cost it wants this time. I know shipping has gone up but :WTFBubble:

  3. ok so i got this sub from my uncle and its a d2 3" voice coil diamond audio 15" and i think its the old school hex pro but the dust cap is messed up and the spiders aren't stiff anymore so i need a recone i would like to do a FI bl or old school ufo btl recone for it but i need to know if it will fit and will it work with this sub

    heres a picture http://67.195.13.132/us.f1136.mail.yahoo.com/ya/securedownload?mid=1%5f222869%5fAD2niGIAAB9FTj29nQnpogisW2g&pid=3&fid=Inbox&inline=1&cred=jz16LoVLQx2K.KGV7DGsdtw..PcHEeGoZi5WJ7AwskvEJFRcfzb0sVpoIKARJlRnRRzjUescFIK4QbSFUxOyRtxjR.mgBh.djPQfv2rwzlZon6X.32dgq9ZyBQ--&ts=1316811901&partner=ymail&sig=wXCn11pKH1k9I1UKM3ZAkg--

    so help please

it says its 750 watts i dont know if that is peak or rms wattage

neither one will work for it.. they might be able to make one that will work for that sub but doubt it

    y will they not work

Why does the link ask to sign into yahoo :WTFBubble:

because bl/btl recones made for the bl/btl subs can't see your picture but probably different basket maybe different size spiders oddball size coil, gap it may not be exactly 3" or the same as the bl/btl's :ughdunno:

  4. I believe the new IA 40.1 is an all new circuit design and of course smaller footprint. But just like the old version it will do more than rated and be stable to .5 ohm. You won't hear an audible difference between old and new.

I think he's asking if their would be a difference between the d9 and the 40.1

  5. Alright, so the reason why i didnt put this in the for sale section is because im just seeing how much interested it would actually get, i have a second one laying around but i dont want to part with it if im not getting the right price i guess. So either send me a PM or post on the thread and if anyone is really interested in buying this amp then we might make a deal. :)

Post up some pics of the amp with you user name so everyone can see the shape of it. Does this one the the 3 little blue led lights on the front cover?

  6. Well recieved it back and installed it and alt wont work at idle and with no warranty i'm f****d :suicide-santa::suicide-santa:

You do have a one-year warranty on this unit and we have never backed away from taking care of our customers.

Hmm I was just looking at Mechman alts. This kind of worries me. Would hate to shell out almost $500 and have to ship it back like 3-4 times before a working one arrives.

Unfortunately we ran into a problem with the fit on Joe's unit, Ford changed designs and we were not aware of the fit issue with the AC compressor. The unit not functioning properly was most likely due to mishandling by the shipping company as every unit we ship is dyno'd before it is boxed. Joe was good enough to clearance the blocks himself so when it came back we cleaned them up, powdercoated them again and clearanced the case on the mill to make things look nice like they should. We work hard to fit units to vehicles that aren't available from other manufacturers and this is one of the problems that we may encounter on a rare occasion.

If the invoice is prior to the date that the 2yr warranties went into effect shouldn't you still be under the 1 yr warranty???

Does it have an adjustable voltage boost module harness? How do you know its not charging? It sucks when the weekend gets in the way of important things but give them a call today. They will help you.

I looked at your alt pics and saw no AVBM harness. I hope its something simple. If your just getting a 13.8v charge the cars PCM could be controlling the alt but you are still getting pretty close to the alts rated output at X rpm's after warm up. Good luck.

inkfx you can ask onebadmonte about how well my mechman holds up. My car might not be as brutal as his burban but he did see the stinger voltage meter on my dash holding 14v at idle at that audio express get together a few weekends back.

This unit is under the one-year warranty.

There is no AVBM as it is PCM controlled.

I'm thinking it's simply an idle speed issue at this point and would require a simple pulley swap to correct it entirely. Many new cars idle very low for a variety of reasons, emissions, idle fuel consumption and noise, and it slows the accessories to the point where they can barely function at that speed. 500rpm idle speeds are not uncommon these days, my GMC idles at 550, my BMW at 600, but my Volvo is downright uncivilized at 900.

Alt was ordered/paid for on 7-1-11 called Eric for a update on 7-15-11 and he said it went out 7-14-11 in the afternoon and i received it on 7-18-11. Thats why I think it should have the 2 year warranty it didn't leave mechman till AFTER they started the new policy......... but it is what it is.

As of a 1 year warranty I have no idea I emailed and ask Eric about the 2 year and this is what he said " Unfortunately no but we take care of our people with heavily discounted repairs outside warranty. Our failure rate is very low so you have nothing to worry about"

It does not have a AVBM cause of the PCM

I had my Fluke meter hooked up and it does not charge at all at idle. When you rev the engine it starts charging at 14.xx but when it goes back to idle rpm it drops back to 12.xx and slowly drops. Its like the alt isn't turning on.

I guess my alt's no good for the 2 year warranty since my invoice it dated 7-1-11?
Unfortunately no' date=' but we take care of our people with heavily discounted repairs outside warranty. Our failure rate is very low so you have nothing to worry about. [/quote']

I am sorry if you misunderstood' date=' but all units sold prior to the start of the two-year warranty have a one-year warranty period.

I replied to your email this AM.

    -Eric.

    [/quote']

From what I can tell Its between 600-700

Could the coating on the blocks be keeping the alt from getting a deasent ground? Because the recesed holes in the blocks are painted so the only ground would be from when the coating scrapes off when I tighten the allen head bolts. Last time I ground the coating off so it would get a good ground.

  8. Well I installed it and it wont turn (on) when my escape is idling. When i rev the engine above 1200rpm's it shoots to 14.3-14.5 volts on fluke volt meter but when idling it drops to 12.2 and my battery light comes on. I have checked the plug that plugs into the alt and it is snapped in and the factory cable and my 1/0 guage cable is attached and my belt is very tight. So I guess I'm screwed as I asked Eric about the 2 year warranty and he said that my alt doesn't qualify as I bought it on the 1st and they implemented the new warranty on the 13th.

I had a similier problem when I first installed it last time and it was the plug and all I had to do is push on it and it snapped into place, but now I have removed the plug and snapped it back into place and still know voltage at idile. So after all of this I removed the meacman alt and put my factory one back in and it works like normal so i reinstalled the mechamn alt and still the same so I think im done screwing aroung with this as it takes little over 3 1/2 hours to remove the factory alt and install this piece piece of S*** and since this is the third time I installed this its just not worth my time and hassle an another $30 to send it back again and plus what ever the cost of repair would be.. And also I had over 5 hours to install it the first time as I had to cut/grind on the mounting blocks they sent cause they didn't fit and had to be modified.

So thats my opinion take it as you will.

Pm me If you want to buy it for parts. I paid $449.99 + $30 to ship it back to get fixed last time so make me an offer but remember it DOESN'T work only for parts!!

  9. How is your new Mechman alt?? Wondering because I recommended Mechman to a friend (member here) for his F150, plus they have that deal going on so a 270amp for 10% is a good deal.

I'll let you know later as I'm in the process of putting it in today. But for the price for a 270 amp like mine you can't beat the deal and they return all of the emails and they actually answer the phone when you call unlike other manufactures.

  10. It took long enough to get this one out the door to him, not going to make him wait any longer!

Oh, and now we know all of the interference so the next guy will have the best fit available.

Now how about that for costumer service :jump: Cant wait to get it installed so I can start the big build :drink40:

Thanks again Eric for all of the help. oh ya got the shims yesterday :)
