Which amp is right for my NVX Components

Thanks everyone for the replies! I got the new 600.2 in the mail today and installed it almost immediately. I haven't tuned the amp yet since it started raining, but so far the speakers sound very clear and a great bang for the buck. I've had a couple different brands in the truck so far for all around the same price and these sound better for sure!
  2. Hey everyone! So I just purchased some of NVX 6-1/2" V-Series 2-way components since I wanted to give them a try. Looking into a new amp for just these speakers only. Curious what you think about these two amps? There around the price I want to spend and I am not 100% on sticking with this brand, but ive had good luck with these amps over the years so I figured I would stick with them. Here are the component specs: 6-1/2" V-Series 2-way Component Speaker System Peak: 280 watts per set / 140 watts each side 140 watts per set / 70 watts each side 4 ohms impedance and here are the two amps im looking at and curious which one would work better for my application Orion CB300.2 Cobalt Series 2 Channel Amplifier RMS Watts @ 4 Ohm Stereo 14.4V: 60 Watts X 2 Channel / RMS Watts @ 2 Ohm Stereo 14.4V: 80 Watts X 2 Channel / RMS Watts @ 4 Ohm Bridge 14.4V: 160 Watts RMS Power Watts: 300 Watts / Max Power Watts: 600 Watts Frequency Response 10Hz~36KHz(-3dB) Signal Noise Ratio: 90dB Hi Pass Freq. 50Hz-4KHz / Low Pass Freq. 40Hz-500Hz Orion CB600.2 Cobalt Series 2 Channel Amplifier RMS Watts @ 4 Ohm Stereo 14.4V: 110 Watts X 2 Channel / RMS Watts @ 2 Ohm Stereo 14.4V: 160 Watts X 2 Channel / RMS Watts @ 4 Ohm Bridge 14.4V: 160 Watts X 1 Channel RMS Power Watts: 320 Watts / Max Power Watts: 1200 Watts Frequency Response 10Hz~36KHz(-3dB) Signal Noise Ratio: 90dB Hi Pass Freq. 50Hz-4KHz / Low Pass Freq. 40Hz-500Hz Thanks guys!

Which amp is right for my NVX Components

Perfect. Thank you guys!! And for the fast replies! I was thinking the same, but wanted to double check with people on here.
  4. Appreciate the feedback guys thanks! Ya its a low budget Orion amp I got way before I knew much about car audio. Not sure the exact model name.. but you guys pretty much said it. Think ill just buy a new one Thanks again!
  5. Hi guys! Its been awhile since I have last been on here. So after many tests of swapping speakers/ crossovers, checking RCAs it comes down to my amp has an issue with the speaker outputs on the left side of the outputs only. The right side works completely fine after swapping speaker wires from left to right. There is sound, but its very fuzzy/dull and almost sounds blown. Can this easily be fixed maybe? Maybe from a member on here? The amp is an Orion 600 watt 2 Channel amp. The amp was maybe purchased in 2007/2008 brand new. Maybe just the age and daily wear and tear its time for a new one? Thanks guys!!

haha. i agree about going to a show and listening to different speakers. just not to many shows going on around my town. i do agree thats the best way to make a decision. however, i may try out the IA comps. read on here many people like them. thanks for the help everyone

Ive been looking into these speakers from awhile back. they not to great? they will be hooked to a 600watt 2 channel orion amp. http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Audio-And-Video/NEW-RE-AUDIO-RE6.5C-6.5-COMPONENT-CAR-SPEAKERS-6-1-2/RE6.5C.aspx http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Incriminator-Audio-I-Series-6.5%22-Components.html what u guys think?

    what replacement 6.5s would work?

i was debating a new set. just not sure which ones, but figure i would ask out of curiousity about re using the crossovers and tweeters. if i did get a new componet set i would "like" to keep it around 150 give or take a little more. im putting these speakers in the stock location with not a lot of depth. so im a little restricted on which ones to get. guess ill start looking around Oh and both driver and passenger side speakers are dead
  10. Hey guys! Haven't posted on here in a pretty long time. Still have all my equipment but my mb quart 6.5s mids blew so I figure guess its time to get some new ones. I have the components hooked up to a pretty ok orion 2 channel amp. Here are the two I'm curious about.... http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Audio-And-Video/NEW-RE-AUDIO-RE6.5C-6.5-COMPONENT-CAR-SPEAKERS-6-1-2/RE6.5C.aspx And these http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Incriminator-Audio-I-Series-6.5%22-Components.html Lemme know if you need more info! Tell me what you think of these two. Just want some decent speakers back in the truck. Thanks guys!
  11. alrighty lets try this again.. earlier i noted that i was looking for new 6.5 mid drivers. luck as i would have it my drivers side 6.5 went out the other day... so ive been looking around and the cadence cwm6 componets have caught my eye. however, im not entirely sure if they will fit due to the size of the magnet. aswell as depth... here is what i have to work with... here are the window tracks that make me question if they will fit.. just shy of 2 1/2 inches and here is the MAX depth before the window.. just a little past 3 inches with spacers maybe its possible to push the speakers forward? it almost seems i have about 3/4 of an inch to push forward.. i want to keep whatever i end up getting in the door pockets and not build fiberglass molds or cut/trim anything. the components i have now are 2.5" in depth, but the magnet fits by the window track that i have in the pictures. the cadence 6.5 are 3" deep as said on their site... so maybe i could get spacers to give me a bit more room? if not do you have any suggestions that would fit my doors? i would like to just replace the drivers if possible, but im open to your suggestions. thanks for reading!!

    looking for new 6.5 drivers

Answer the question I asked above and you will have the answer to the question you just asked me. Here it is again... Well the info i plan to glean is where my h/u, and amps have distortion. Then setup my system below that point. As for now all the music i use is clean signals. And if i get music that is dirty i dont play it in my ride. Now stop avoiding my question and let me ask you where your opinion comes from? Stop avoiding and just answer the question.. i can see where you are coming from M5. yet.. outta curiosity. i have the same question as RX. and cablguy184... im going to try the cadence CWM6 components. seem pretty good for what im looking for and with that price im not expecting the best.. so i shall see how they work for me! thanks for staying on the topic. lol ...(kinda sad this simple recommendation of a little 6.5 component set up went to a dispute with a dd1...)

    looking for new 6.5 drivers

they are 60 bucks shipped. im thinking price has to deal with the material used and construction of the overall kit though.. hmm with them being 60 bucks i kind of want to try them out. a lot of people bring them up in which components to get and then some say they are pretty rough speakers, but im sure with them being properly installed and what not im sure they could shine. i have a friend who just bought that smd distortion detector aswell so that should help too so i dont over power them. seems im answering my own questions here.. lol

No, not even close. Recipe for disaster re-using a passive crossover. The tweeters I know nothing about, but wouldn't be excited. thanks for the input because thats probably what i would have done. lol. glad i asked. ive just heard the crossovers for the cadence 6.5's are total junk made of plastic that dont hold together that well... but who knows how it will do for me. i might do a bit more shopping before pulling the trigger. unless i can find better info on the speakers from everyone on here. ive checked just about every topic on here and mostly everything that google found for me. so idk

    looking for new 6.5 drivers

i was thinking last night that maybe i could trim that black piece if all it does is act as a track. (where the window doesnt even come close too) ...if that was trimmed its possible the mid driver would fit. im powering the front components with an orion 2 channel amp i used to use for some diamonds subs i had before i stepped up to the bigger boy stuff. lol would it be ok to use my PVI Mb Quart crossovers and tweeters with the cadence cwm6 mids?

    looking for new 6.5 drivers

when you say the "door panel and door." do you mean the plastic door piece and the actual speaker? if so its just about 3/4 of an inch that i could push forward for more depth

    looking for new 6.5 drivers

i actually have a picture of that! lol. to the glass it is just shy past 3 inches. im just looking at all these 6.5 i have considered. most of the motors seem to be pretty fatty. lol. it is going into a 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew

    Lack of midbass

Im thinking of getting (4) Selenium 6w4p speakers and curious which four channel amp you guys would recommend for them? Im not sure if around 150 bucks will give me a decent amp or not, but that's prob as high as i would like to go price wise! Let alone. What do you guys think of Selenium? Im def in need of better midbass and those seemed to catch my eye. So throw me some amp suggestions and that would be great!! Thanks guys!
