  1. Hey guys. I noticed the prices dropped a little bit on the new TC Sounds drivers. The LMS-R 12 is now $269. Anyone here have any experience with the newer TC drivers? I know the old ones were well praised.

How would the lms-r compare to an Icon?

I am just always curious and noticed the price and I just started thinking.

  2. Due to the custom built designs of IA woofers, it's best to follow their recommendations Incriminator Audio: No Chrome, No Carbon Fiber, No BS! Period

All IA woofers are packaged with box recommendations but no T/S specs.

Does each subwoofer dramatically change from the next when they build them? Would SSA's woofers change then from every one built?

I am going to follow their box recommendations, it would just be nice to have specs for future reference thats all. I guess I'm just gonna have to buy a WT3 :D

  3. I emailed Nick as well for the LI ts specs and haven't got anything back. Hell it has been over a week.

I just want the specs that is it.

    Kef

I know what you mean. It's been over a week now as well. I just want some specs. I understand though that Nick is a busy guy. Hopefully my Death Row ships out this week. Ordered it on the 16th. Im excited :drink40:

  4. a guy on their facebook page comments said this:

    Shastri Maharaj

jus bought one of the li 12 inch subs, thing slamming!but wheres a ts specs?

so I dunno if they come with them or not but from that comment i'd say no. He may have just overlooked them though.

Sorry i'm not more help :( I'll woofertester my LI 12 when I can buy one in a week or two.

Thanks for the reply anyway. I guess they don't send them. I tried to email them about it and never heard anything back. I did order the DR 12 however, as I'm not too worried about having the specs, it would just be nice to have them

  5. Ok. Question on the box. If I went with the DR, the recommended box is 1.8 cubes - 2.5 cubes, 20 - 48 Inches of Port, 32-37 Hz.

So, I can fit a box with about 2 cu. ft. after displacements. I think I will tune the box closer to 30hz as I think that will match up better to my SSF which is set at 28hz. I can do this with a port area of 25 in^2. Is this enough port area? I know it falls in the recommended range, but will it be enough for the DR? Also the tuning will be a little lower then recommended, which I dont think will matter much. Do these numbers sound ok?

Also, box dimensions are 14" x 32" x 14" (HxWxD). It comes out to about 2.3 cu. ft and after woofer dis. it is about 2.1 cu. ft.

I would bump up your tuning to IA specs. Other than that you should be good to go!

I will do that. And I think I will be ordering it here tomarrow. I am selling my Boston G5 to a buddy for $120 today. actually in about an hour or so. So that will help with the purchase. just one last coin flip between an Icon and the DR

  7. Death Rows are sq/spl or more commonly referred to as """SQL""". SSA Icons are along the same line as well. You cant go wrong with either. What are your goals? Daily beater? Loud? Low HZ? You can lean more towards one or the other once you figure out what your goals are. :fing34:

This will be my daily driver. I have always had sealed subs in my systems, but wanna try ported this time. My goals for this woofer would be to be able to play all types of music. I mostly listen to rap/rock but I do play classical, oldies rock, techno, etc... I also don't always have my system slammin either. So I need it to sound decent at low volume and just blend in. Needs to be musical enough that when I play something with fast double bass I can hear each note, not muddy. Another goal isn't just to get loud. I know whichever I choose will be loud enough for me, so thats not a concern. I do need it to play low however, and with some authority. Whichever I get I will tune to 30-32 hz. I know either will be reliable and I will set my gains correctly with a scope.

I have just never seen/heard either of these brands in person, so I don't know what to think. And there are plenty of reviews of the Icons, but I maybe found one or two reviews on the death rows.

  8. Hey guys. I can't decide whether or not to run an Icon 12 or DR 12. I have found little information or reviews on the death rows. I was just wondering if people ever use them? It seems like it's either the lethal injections or the death penaltys. I was just curious why I don't see much of the DR's. Are they not worth the price? They look to be one hell of a woofer. I am looking to get one 12 and the Icon or DR fit the bill. I have 1000 watts to play with, and stock electrical. So going any bigger isn't gonna happen.

What are your thoughts on the death row line of subs?

  9. i think if you are willing to run two 12s sealed then you may want to step up to a single(xcon,z,deathrow, havoc) 12 ported that should have nice output

one 12 ported would be a fun project, as I have never ran a ported box myself. I would probably on have 1000 watts available on my stock electrical for the sub-stage. I also run a alpine pdx-4.100 to power my type R comps in the front. 2 channels aren't being used at the moment. I haven't done the big 3 yet, but will sometime this summer. The xcon has just too much potential that I wouldn't touch, the Z would be too big, haven't considered the havoc before, and the death row could work.

I also forgot about the exodus woofers. I could run the shiva-x2 in sealed boxes. They have real nice extension in sealed boxes, and are real nice sounding woofers.

So i just do not know what to do right now, as I'm sure whichever I pick I will be more then happy.

and running a prototype Icon sounds like a real cool Idea too :drink40:

  10. to be totally honest i had figured at first since the sealed box i was using was a little on the small side that they would not dig deep but i was dead wrong they still got down pretty good but not as low as the i 12 in the ported box its tuned to 31. but its still good tho

I just need to decide how much output I really want. I have the power to run 1 icon ported, or can run two of them sealed but a little underpowered. I can fully power two LI-12's or SA-12's sealed box. I have the room, but am not going to use it to port two 12's. And a 15 doesn't fit because of height restrictions, and I don't wanna build a slanted face box to make a 15 fit.

    Dilemmas dilemmas....

I know its all install dependant, but what are some of the numbers that ppl hit with one Icon? Just some general numbers?

  11. you got three good choices to pick from. the little bit of playing around i have done with th Li 12s i must admit that they have some serious potential to do damage. i've only put two in a sealed box and now i run one ported and they get good and loud on rms power.

How did they do on the lows in the sealed box?

  12. If you want T/S specs for the LI email Nick at Incriminator Audio. As far as which subwoofer will give you the most in a sealed box? I would have to say SSA DCON, ICON or XCON!

I actually did email LI asking for the specs. He said that they normally dont give the specs out because all the woofers are custom built. So I didn't ask again

  13. I vote Icon, since it is in stock. I am a little biased. :tehe: ;)

I would love to do an icon. I know that will be a crap ton of bass too, its just hard to guage without ever hearing these woofers or a system much larger then mine actually.

Another question....are the icons shipping with the new cone? I just saw in a new build thread, (maybe stafan's?) that they had the look of an xcon. Are they all shipping like that?

Also, my amp has a fixed SSF at 28hz. So I will probably tune the box at 28-30hz. but how high could I go before I would run into problems?

Those are the prototypes. We are allowing a few people to grab the newer version before their "official release", as we are still awaiting parts for the 10" model. The differences is the Xcon cone, upgraded suspension, sandwiched leads, and coil change. As for tuning, you can tune the box in the 31/32hz range and be fine. :)

oh ok. When would the new icons ship?

Will still be a little bit yet. If you would like the prototype version, specify it in your order. ;)`

are the T/S parameters on the prototype the same as the current icon?

And would the prototype be the same price and have the same warranty?

  15. I've got about 4.5 cubes gross to work with sealed for 3 10s. I have 500w rms per sub.

I want it to get loud and also pick up the lows exceptionally well for a sealed box.

Would like to keep it around $150 per driver.

    Subs considered:

    Mach5 ixl

    Dayton mkIII

    Audiopulse epic

With that amount space, you could get 3 of the mach 5 IXL-10 BR's and run them ported. The recommended space is only 0.4 cu. ft. three of those would be impressive
