    w3 vs type r

I've never had a type r, but I did own a 12w3 and it did sound pretty good, and it got decently loud, but I upgraded to a 12" rlp which definitely sounded better and got louder...

    Fitting speakers front doors

yea you can make make a ring out of 1/2 inch mdf...any size really as long as it fits your application
  3. how much would it go for on the forums? (trying to figure out if its worth the gas to go get it....)
  4. Hey I'm trying to build a system for my 2000 nissan pathfinder...and unfortunately it only has a 90 amp alt, and I don't want to buy a H.O. alt, so how much power can I safely run? I was planning on getting an Arc Audio 1500v1 XXK, which I didn't realize is a class A/B monoblock amp that puts out 1000 watts RMS...so i'm guessing it's not as efficient as a class D of the same power... soo i could do the big 3 upgrade...but is a 1000 watt class A/B monoblock not a good idea for a 90 amp stock alt? thanks for the help
  5. The only place i see you can order maw-12's is directly from mach 5 audio, which is based in canada, so wouldn't shipping be really high? is there any store in the US that carries them? (i wish ssa carried more than just the 15 and 18) thanks for the help

    looking at buying US amps...

hi, I've been looking to buy a new amp for a while, and every model made by US amps seems to be top quality, but I was wondering what the prices were? and where do you buy them? I'm looking to buy a class D mono amp that does around 1000 x1 @ 1 ohm... thanks
  7. i know the older soundstream stuff was good, but I know nothing about the edge series or picasso series class D amps. i figure they put out rated power, but are they still considered quality? I need a 1ohm stable amp, and soundstream has some good prices on ebay...

not sure what to do...help please

the OEM ones on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 looks like a good buy. an id rep said they're a cross between the idq and idmax

not sure what to do...help please

ok guys, so i ported the 12" rlp, 1.75 cu ft tuned to 30 hz (i was told this would be loud and retain good SQ) i must admit the rlp sounds great, but i still prefer the sound of sealed better for my application. the ported box sounds GREAT for the lower notes, and is really smooth, but i listen mainly to rock, so i need better bass around 60 hz(i think?!?), which is more ideal in sealed. my little brother offered to buy my rlp, which is why im considering something else(cause i kinda want to try something new). my main question is will two 12" ID sealed subwoofers getting 500 watts each be louder than my one rlp sealed with 600 watts? thanks

that was actually my original choice, so thanks for the confirmation. they're such a good price too!!
  11. i currently have a 12" rlp sealed getting 600 watts, but it just isn't quite loud enough. I found about three other alternatives but I'm not sure what is the best choice, whatever I get, I would get a new amp to properly power it. Choice 1: a 15" rlp Choice 2: TWO 12" Image Dynamics ebay woofers- http://cgi.ebay.com/Image-Dynamics-OEM-12-...1QQcmdZViewItem Choice 3: THREE 10" AA Assassin subs - http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin10specs.html Either choice sounds fun, but my overall goal is to be loud while still sounding good (i listen mainly to rock, so i like nice tight accurate punchy bass)

best SQ from a ported box

Hi everyone, quick question...i have a 12" rl-p D4 and want to make a ported enclosure while maintaining the BEST SQ I can (if it makes any difference, I listen mainly to rock). I was told 1.5 cubes tuned to 28 hz. Does this sound accurate?
