  1. I know stickers should be a no-no, but do you think a NRA sticker would also be a deterrent :puzzled: ?

Haha, maybe. Unless they're hoping to steal a gun and think someone might be stupid enough to leave one in their car?

  2. Another thing is when posting on forums, make sure to leave your license plate out of pictures or block it out, people can find you through it.

I see that all too often. (People including their license plate)

  3. This topic has been discussed some, you can probably find good advice using the search feature...However, some basic advice:

    1. Get an alarm, wire speakers up inside the car so it's not pleasant inside the car while the alarm is going off.

    2. Don't blast your stereo before you park or where you're going to be parked for awhile.

    3. Hide as much equipment as possible (amps under seats, etc). Tint is a good idea although I've seen discussion that tint shows you have something to hide..

    4. Motion lights if you're parking your vehicle on your driveway might be a good idea.

    5. Might sound paranoid...But make sure people aren't following you home. I've heard stories of such things.

  4. Haters are going to hate...All of those rules seem very reasonable and are probably the main reason SSA isn't full of garbage posts...I notice sometimes people use the "forbidden" terms and there's some leniency. (As it should be..)

  5. I have an '06 tahoe and I am planning on running a saz-3500d @ 1.33ohms and a sax-125.2. I have $400 to put towards an alt today, this Saturday I'll have enough to purchase:

2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban V8 AD 270 Amp XP series alternator

That seems to be the highest rated alternator I can find. Am I better off waiting and getting that or do any of you guys know of anything cheaper but just as good?

  6. im about to do my very first system and i wanted to know if any one would even want to see it. all it is is a alpine type r 10 with a alpine mrp-m500 amp in a ported box. in the front is a kenwood HU and alpine sps-600 speakers. idk if thats a good build log but if anyone wants to see the build log let me know. im getting my amp in a few weeks so that is when i will be installing everything.

Sounds like an excellent first time system! Definitely do a build log here, and don't hesitate to ask for help installing it all.

  7. How much were those?

The clips look to attach to the tray to tighten the top? ... shrug.gif

    Amazon.com: Trans-Dapt 9323 Stainless Battery Tray: Automotive

$50 on amazon..I'm going to call them tomorrow and figure out wtf to do with those side pieces. I went out and bought some j-style hold down rods...

I'm thinking of using bolts + washers + nuts to secure them down..Self tapping screws would be easier, but they wouldn't be as secure..Right? Kind of clueless on this.

  8. Drove down and dropped off the stickers in person so I didn't have to wait for them to get them tomorrow by shipping -- so I saw the SA-10s and 12s (they exist) -- but I cannot get them until they apply the stickers.

Hopefully I can still get them Friday but if not early next week.

Damn that sucks! Roughly how many pieces need to be stickered? Would hate to have that job.

  9. And well, i will let the following photo say it all......

    36094_10150212699210107_782535106_13062155_1054699_n.jpg

    The car has 2 x Sundown 4500d's

    Strapped at 0.35 - 0.175 per amp

    Measured output across the pair

    105.3 volts

    121.2 amps

= 12,762 watts output - or in laymans terms "a ****load"

Battery was dropping to 10.5 volts as well!

I do not condont this sort of abuse - one of the amps was going into protect which is something i need to investigate further, however whichever way you look at it - 6.3K from a 4.5k amp with no engine charging the battery (StreetMax) is pretty awesome going.

I feel i must also give some of the credit to the DC LV 4XL SPL motored subs, as they seem to be standing up to the abuse very well so far!!!

    NICE!
